Just as yahoo took away java, they seem to have brought back the ability to create private rooms the old ways.
You can make them the old way by click on the room list, and click create room, or just type /join roomname in a room and it will make it for you.
Don’t know how long it will be there, but it’s there as of today.

They actually never went away, you could always create them, but when using a yahoo chat client, they would feed you some error, and then by clicking OK you would exit the room. just an fyi lol

I just tried it today (using my new 7.5.0.811) – but Create A Room is greyed out for me.
I guess it came…. then it went again. ?

For me it’s always been greyed out. The way you have to do it is by joining a existing room then type /join nameofroomyouwant click enter and it creates it then takes you to it. The name of the room is selective at times (the best that work are something like “The Vanessa Club” <<Doesn't exist, but just giving an example. I don't use chatrooms but was interested in finding out how to make them when yahoo made the java changes so i tried it out. Anyone can feel free to correct me if i am wrong.

You’re right,it is greyed out though i dont really see the use for a private room since there’s conference posibilities…I’ve never been into chat anyway But i see that the voice is still on when you go into a room…I dont understand how they screw some things up and then just forget to “unscrew” them :confused: Wonder if they really read any of our feedback or this service is just like a box all messenger companies have to check?
Well everytime yahoo does some type of update, it’s almost like they forgot they have to turn off the private room feature.
So that feature seems to come and go and on daily basis.
Lately you can still create a private room, but there is NO voice capibility in it. Which is why you use voice conference in conjunction with it.
Sometimes you need to have both type and voice in a room, and going to a public room is not feasible.
But stay tooned for next week, because it will all change again!!!
