If you have any problems signing into MSN Messenger after the forced MSN Messenger 6.1 update:
Try deleting the following folder after you closed messenger completly and reinstall messenger afterwards (you will loose your custom emoticons and DP’s though):
C:Documents and Settings
NOTE: YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR CUSTOM EMOTICONS AND DISPLAY PICTURES.
i do not have these folders on my computer
If u’re running Windows 9x, the folder is located in C:WindowsApplication DataMicrosoftMSN Messenger
Delete this folder and Messenger will be able to start up properly again – I did this personally after spending 30 minutes trying to fix it 🙂
Good luck!
