MemberHey everyone.
I haven’t been available much these days for people who know me, and if you don’t know me, then you probably will get to know me sometime. Anyway, I write software for Instant Messenger clients, mostly Yahoo! Messenger, but haven’t written anything new in quite awhile though.
I’ve been really busy since the past 4/5 months with college and everything and I didn’t have much time to even go on my own website, never mind writing software. But, I’ve finally finished college and I have the whole summer coming at me and a lot of spare time and now that I have spare time, I can start to write new software again like I did before.
Some of you might know of my software, some may not, but one application that I did make and gained a lot of popularity over Yahoo! Messenger blogs and forums was YMSG Auto Response, which was an Automated Answering Machine for Yahoo! Messenger, which had a lot of cool features and feedback, you may/ may not of heard of it, but I will be re-writing it soon, with more cool features and better compatibility.
Anyway! The reason I created this topic is to ask users, what kind of application would they think they and others would enjoy?
The reason I’m asking, is because now that I have spare time, I will be writing new software and I would like to hear other people’s ideas and try to develop something unique or new.
So what would you like to use?
Regards

ParticipantOne thing I’ve always wanted and maybe you know if it’s possible: is to have status changes reflect within an instant message conversation. Back in the day (several Yahoo! versions ago) this was what would happen: You’d be typing to person M and when they’d change their status, it’d show you the update within the text. I miss this feature. Yes, I know it shows it above the message box but I just wondered if this feature was somehow able to be added back or impossible.
I know you wanted ideas with more content or something really useful but I decided to give this a try.
If I think of anything more productive, I’ll let you know. 🙂

MemberIt’s possible but you have to be very, very careful when modifying anything within the conversation, or else some nasty crashes can occur.
