MemberIm quite aware that this subject is quite off topic from the forum but I have noticed that are some very intelligent, computer liturate people who read and post on this site.
I have two computers, one Windows XP and the other Windows ME. Recently I had a DSL connect set up with a router so that both computers can be online at the same time. Now I would like for the two computers to be able to share files. I have found sites that explain how to do this but being only 14 and not being able to understand their “computer lingo”, I’m totally lost :(. I would greatly appriciate some help from anyone.
Thanks for your time 😮
[Edit]: Topic moved to ‘Random Ramblings’, the place for off-topic posts (which are very welcome there, by the way. :)).

ParticipantHave you tried running the Network Setup Wizard on XP which will also create a setup Floppy to run on Windows ME. This would be the easiest way to share files between the two.
Remember to set up some folders to share as well – Right-click any folder and choose Sharing and then allow the folder in the settings.

MemberThe easiest hassle free way of sharing files via XP is the Network Setup Wizard on XP as Shifter mentioned. However there are other ways of achieving the same thing. The only problem is you will need to be somewhat “Network” savvy. My suggestion is if you cannot figure out how to get it setup via the Network Setup Wizard on XP, try doing a search on the net for networking tutorials on XP or just windows. There are plenty of websites out on the Net that have loads of technical information translated into laymans terms on the subject of Networking. Here are a few links on the subject which I pulled up with a simple search on Yahoo:
