MY radio station that I DJ at is WDGC 88.3 FMAll classic rock/Rock ‘n’ Roll, anytime of the day.
But why are we even doing this? Every city and/or country has its own stations, so we might as well post our favorite genres.

ParticipantA lot of stations have a online stream of their station for the world to hear them. I know most of the stations I listed do. It also gives an opportunity to view different contests the stations have etc.

Participanti listen to the radio when i’m home (meaning not at college), mostly cause I dont get any decent reception out here. when I am listening, it’s usually Milwaukee’s 99.1 WMYX – The Mix. i’ll borrow detn8r’s description – “pop, dance, new rock, rap.. all the good stuff ;)”

Well, I think that’s exactly what makes it interesting. You know, get to know some radio stations around the world, get an idea of what people here listen to. 🙂

ParticipantWell, I listen tio XM radio. It is really awesome and crystal clear quality anywhere around the globe. Well, except when you drive under a freeway overpass. I mostly listen to Cinemagic. It is all movie scores, soundtracks, whatever, and it is really fun to try and guess what movies the songs are from. The ’80s on XM is another good station too 🙂

ParticipantMostly I stick to my own music, or the genres that are on musicmatch juckbox…but when I do have to listen to a station, I stick to:
KROC 106.9
which is the top 40
Laser 101.7
Which is Old Skool Rock (mmm…)
Y105
Soft Rock
KLSE 99.5
ClassicalYeah, I like classical. Beethovan’s my lover boy. And don’t ANYBODY mess with my 80’s. If I hear my brother say that Thriller is gay, or that Cindy Lauper sucks the fat one, I’m going to run him through, I swear! *goes all rabid like on whoever messes with her music*
I’m kind of a sell out though because the TV station I worked for started out a branch of KROC, then went off on its own and such and so forth. That and that’s all my sister listens to, so I really don’t have much of a choice in that *groan* …Little sisters…at least she’s out of the boy band phase…*tilt* we have cinemagic, but it’s a theatre. And it stinks next to the Chateau. *rock* Chateau!

Because there are subtle differences, and there are stations that are just jumpers, they just catch onto a nation wide station. That and it’s more entertaining than just saying “Ugh, I like this genre” and it’s also quite restricting. Example “Top 40s” Is not a genre, per say, but it’s what KROC plays. And Public radio isn’t a genre really, but it’s another one I listen to. I could ask why a lot when it comes to your posts too Mr. Games
That and saying what they play is kind of like posting favorite genres anyway…but they each have their own sites too.October 12, 2004 at 7:22 am #36839Jeff Hester

Yes, but if they have streaming audio (like mine does) we can check it out. I think that’s kinda cool. 😎

MemberI tend not to have radio on in the car, but sometimes on my comp I put on the link to virgin radio and listen to that. As there are choices of different types of music.
Radio here can be pretty dire there so many adverts you wonder if they are ever actually going to play some music! :0)

ParticipantDue to the lack of choices in my little city – we have 2 FM choices, Country (yech) or Pop/Rock, – the only radio station I will willingly listen to is 97.7 SunFM. It’s basically Top 40 pop/rock, but they also do classic oldies as well. I generally only listen at work, but occassionaly have it on in the car if I’m not in a CD mood.
