MemberI have heard so very much lately and experienced the same regarding not receiving offlines, or delayed offlines, or what I like to call the disappearing PM, where you’re typing to someone then all of a sudden, nothing. The PM is lost and not being received. Even in the chat rooms lately there have been voice issues where everyone in the room loses ears at the same time, like a server swipe, or you can’t get into a particular room, or can’t get voice in that room, etc.
Based on what other’s are saying, and reading, here’s what I think.
“Yahoo! and Microsoft have announced a landmark agreement, to connect users of their consumer instant messaging (IM) services on a global basis. This inter-operability agreement, will give MSN Messenger and Yahoo! Messenger users the ability to interact with each other, forming what is expected to be the largest consumer IM community in the world, estimated to be more than 275 million strong.
Being able to instant message between IM communities is one of the features most requested by MSN Messenger and Yahoo! Messenger users, and Microsoft and Yahoo! have committed to provide IM inter-operability while keeping consumer security and privacy first and foremost. “

http://www.nforcershq.com/article4216.htmlDue to this merger, Yahoo and MSN are going crazy to get their software, servers, etc. to work in conjunction with each other. Its been said by some that the reason for the big rush is that Google/AOL are doing the same thing, although I have no idea.
All I’m saying here, is that we have to be patient until Yahoo is done messing around with it. With these types of server issues, there is nothing you can do to your computer, to your messenger, or any program you have that isn’t working, that will help in the situation.
This is all YAHOO. If you think about it, they’re testing their voice server, then they reboot it, and BAM we’re all kicked off the voice server.
If they’re using part of their resources on figuring out the pm’ing issue between msn and yahoo, then sure everyone is going to be losing some pm’s, or missing some offlines.
I’m not saying that some people don’t have true problems that can be fixed in conventional ways, but I don’t think that reinstalling messenger, or formatting your computer, is going to accomplish anything until Yahoo/MSN get done messing around with all the servers.
This is my opinion only, but thought I’d share it.
