After a few chats, MSN asks me if I want to save history, and I always click yes.
Recently I had the need to retrieve a conversation, and opened the file which saved in .xml extension with notepad and later in word pad.
Is there anyway to read msn history file in a cleaner more understandable way, without all the code that is put in there?
XML (Extensible Markup Language) files can be viewed with most modern web browsers.
Thanks! That worked for me. 🙂
Actually there’s an even BETTER way. From the MSN Messenger contact list, go to File > Message History and you’ll get a nicely formatted chat session for any of the contacts that you have saved message history for. It comes up with all the formatting intact and is much, MUCH more readable than the raw XML.
My web browser won’t show it any more, I get this error
Date Time From To Message 0 font-family:Verdana; font-size:67%; text-align:left; vertical-align:top; table-layout:fixed width:2ex border-bottom:1 solid black 1 background-color:#e0edff 0 Debug Version
What do i need to do? I even get the same error in MSN when I try to retirieve it that way. What’s wrong?
