You need to know a ton more than that, I somehow don’t think you know any Linux commands.
Excuse me, but you can get a virus by simply opening a file you got from a friend or by visiting a webpage. It has nothing to do with knowing much about computers!
Besides, what is ‘much’ really, if you look at all that there is to know about computers? 🙂
ya but i’m saying that people who are familiar with comps would be more cognizant of potential virus sources (i.e. one website being more likely to have a virus than others)… maybe that doens’t clarify but hopefully u’ll see what i’m saying
Why would you want to know linux commands? If all I use is Microsoft Windows as my operating system, why should I know commands of an os I don’t use? (in response to Dave’s post)

i’m irish 2, not offended tho… i’ve seen it before but it was amish and it said to burn ur computer after sending it to everyone u know… no offense dave but being computer literate has nothing to do with if u get a virus, it has to do with how much u pay attention… i got a virus by accedent from yahoo…it clearly said *WARNING VIRUS DETECTED* but i wasnt paying attention till seconds too late (anyone calls me an idiot and i will hurt u, after all i AM irish…
:-P) so it doesn’t matter…n e wayz great joke HyperbyteYa, I was about to say that, but you beat me to it, lol.
They are also useful for keeping birds out of your garden.
