MemberWhat do you mean? Are you talking about the list of recently IMed screen names that AIM stores in the registry?

Memberhuh?

MemberYeah, I have that feature on both of my ICQ and AIM. On the buddy list, when someone goes off-line, his or her screen names are on the ‘recent buddies’ folder. Hope this is what matttren was trying to say!

MemberLast week I signed on and there was just a new group titled “Recent Buddies” I never added it, it just appeared over night. I deleted it the group from my one screen name, and then I made a group titled “Recent Buddies” to see if it would reactivate. But now when people (not on my buddy list) IM me they aren’t going under that group. Yet on my other screen names (where I didn’t delete the group) it is still active. What is this function all about, and since when did it come out? Is this a function of AIM server itself? Does anyone understand how this works?

MemberOoooh I know what your talking about now. This is caused by AIM Express. When you add a buddy on AIM Express, it looks like it goes to a specific group but really, it is just put into this “Recent Buddies” group.

Memberit is not caused my AIM express although AIM Express does have this feature. AOL also has it. When you have conversations with people, they go under that list and when you start AOL up again they are still there.

MemberHe’s talking about a specific group of buddies ON his buddylist. Right matttren? And AIM express does do this.

MemberWell yeah I am talking about a specific group of buddies on my buddy list, but I am NOT using AIM express or AOL.

MemberYou guys are doing a lot of repeating the same things that have been said and it is going no where fast. I have see the recent buddies added to my list. I don’t have the new version of AIM either. This must just be something that is on the server side. From what I could tell, the list is either people that IM you that aren’t on your list, or they are people that you try to IM that sign off and you try sending a message. I’m not sure which one it is but I deleted the group and it has yet to return.
