Okay, last night i let my brother on my computer. I have no idea what he could have done or if he did anything but as i tried to log on to WLM today a small box came up similar to an instalation box taht only said windows live messenger. After this was up for about a second it closed and logged me out of WLM and i could no log back on on account of a 8004888d error. I looked around the net but found no solution for this problem. So i decided to just run a system restore to two days before. The restore worked properly but however WLM is still not working properly. I can still log on but the same little box pops up and then closes everything.
Please help and thanks in advance!

Have you tried uninstalling, then reinstalling WLM?
Yes i have tried that but every time i have ever tried to uninstal msn messenger or WLM it doesnt un install all the components or something because the new version i install never works. And also i dont know how it could be anything wrong on my part since a system restore didnt solve the problem, but i am no the expert.
Hmmmm i just found a different forum with a bunch of steps that seemed to fix the problem thanks anyway for pointing out the most blatent of methods 😛
do a full uninstall from add/remove programs, then go into windows explorer c: > program files > delete manually WLM > then do a system restore (all without rebooting) back to the day b4 u installed WLM ( if possible ) …. WAAAH LAAAA hopefully ..
