Memberhey guys,
is there a way in reshack to adjust the location of the away message when it appears?
I have my buddy list docked to the upper right side of my screen and when I select an away message it appears in the upper left, is there a setting in the dll that can be changed to dictate the position that the away box appears on screen? I’m wicked fussy. lol. I like my away message to appear at the lower right corner, the older version did this if you moved it, it saved the position. Im using 5.2 and winXP pro. (no dead aim or anything fancy just plain AIM with the ads blocked)hope you can give a fussy guy some ideas. 😀

MemberI am not sure about using ResHack to move the away box to the right and tell it to stay there. However, I have it set so that when i minimize the buddy list; it hides it and the away message from the task bar. That is just me, I like a clean workspace. If I need to check messages, I just double click the system-tray icon. If you don’t already do this…you can enable it in your preferences. Just open them and on the buddy list section select hide buddy list when minimized. Save the preferences and it makes them just disappear. As for the ResHack, I do not believe window position is used as a resource. It most likely would be in the compiled program itself. However, I could be wrong…

MemberIn the registry, there is a key in “HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareAmerica OnlineAOL Instant Messenger (TM)CurrentVersionUsersWindowPos” that is called “Awaywnd”. If I had to guess I’d say this held the information about where the away message window appears, unfortunately it’s not too obvious as to how I would go about changing the value to a certain position. But, for me there is no need to. If I put up an away message and then sign off (My Aim -> Sign Off) with it on, the position seems to save. Does this work for anyone else?

MemberI see what you mean about the code they use, no idea what to change without messing it up.
I tried your sign out method when the away message is up, didnt save the position change tho. 🙁 -
