MemberThis is something that used to work for me, and now it doesn’t.
I have XP, I use IE, and suddenly the only option I have to save any images is untitled.bmpI like to collect animations, (I sometimes use them in e-mails) and there are many sites that offer free ones,
I am quite baffled where to start to fix this.
Any ideas?

KeymasterI’ve had this problem occasionally myself, but rebooting has always cleared it up so I never discovered the root cause.

MemberOk
I might have solved my own problem. And yes Jeff, you are right, often in the past, a reboot has fixed this issue.
I don’t know what made me think to clear my temporary internet files, but I did, cleared it, and that has automatically solved the trouble I was having.

ParticipantThat is in fact the reason why that happen.I will suggest you set your IE to clean your temp files every ie. 7 day and limit the size as well.I had this problem a long………….. time ago when I was using IE

MemberThe only setting I see for that is already checked.
Tools/Internet Options/ Advanced Tab
scrolling down to security, Empty Temporary Internet Files each time browser is closed.
Obviously that wasn’t happening.Kudo, what setting did you have?

ParticipantWell see, the reason it grays it out is because basicly, the Temp Internet Files directory is full. And IE won’t let you do it, even if you DON’T save it there when it’s full. So yeah, cleaning those would work. I think that limiter is good so it doesn’t take over your computer with temporary files, but it kinda gets in the way sometimes.

ParticipantI always recomend this CCleaner 🙂 try it
CCleaner is a tool to clean your system from temporary and unnecessary files that accumulate over time. This also includes rather thorough cleaning of Internet and PC usage tracks like browser cache, recently used files, web sites visited and more. You can select the items that you want cleaned, and also specify cookies that should not be deleted. In addition, the program comes with a registry scanner that scans for invalid references (advanced users) and options to start cleaning automatically or from the command line.
