Alright well my CD program worked fine a few months ago and then when I got my MP3 player I started to stop burning them since I had no use for them anymore. Then I got smart and thought I should start to again just in case my MP3 player broke. The problem is that when I tried to open Roxio CD burner 5 it would say it was “initializing views” and then never stop…it would just not open and I couldn’t get it to close either. The little rectangle would just sit there in the middle of the screen saying the same thing until I finally restarted the computer. If anyone knows how to fix that or of another good free CD burner program that would be wonderful. Thanks!
can you think of any reason why roxio would stop working within that couple month period?
since i can’t really help you with roxio… i can give u some options
you can look at programs here
http://download.com.com/3150-2646-0.html?tag=dir
a lot of it is shareware (meaning it’s a trial version that expires)
I’ve heard that Nero is good although i haven’t used it (but i checked and apparently it’s shareware too even tho i thought it wasn’t)
so if you want something free just download the programs that say “Free” under the name as opposed to “Free to try, $10 to buy”
What version of Windows?
I had the same problem with Win98.
I found that if I went to Start/Programs/Roxio…. and picked which “item” I wanted to start, it would work fine.
Sorry, but I have no idea why this happened. I just know that this was the only way to use it 99% of the time. (Even after unistalling/re-installing it.)
My problem now is that it won’t reconize mp3 files as mp3s!
