Another version of Yahoo! Messenger isn’t far off. Also a new protocol version as well. Has anyone else heard this? Lets hope its an improvement on the last mess. Messsenger 6 is memory hungry. I dislike it. I still use good old Messenger 5.6 😀

the problems that have accured w/mine are the voice thing you have posted….messages not appearing when people IM me just a blank message….and the ignore list not working….
There will be a build 6.1, as I showed you earlier(n3td3v).
As for new protocol, when sniffing the packets from 6.1, it doesnt appear to have any new protocol implimentation, but that does not mean they wont roll it out.
I am assuming most of 6.1, is minor and major bug fixes. Although the chat voice thing is still occuring when I tried it out.

They need a protocol update, its been what 2 years now or one and a half years since they updated it.
Last time they released messenger 6 (summer 04), I found 2 security bugs for it. Hopefully this one i’ll find more! lol, I like to beat my scores. 😀 To the dismay of the Yahoo! security team, who don’t like full disclosures, without warning! 😉

I can’t see any flaws in the protocol again tho, the big sec flaw which gave cookie disclosure was a big big wake up call for Yahoo! You never know tho, things do happen. 🙂
I think you’re right tho. 6.1 will be bug fixes. a *.1 update is never a major overhaul of anything. Its more like when you get to say 6.5, you can expect new stuffs. Same for *.0 releases, they are big overhauls! Anyways, thats all i’ve got to say for nowz. Hehe, I love messenger releases, as they always give me vulns to report to the sec community.
