Participantif you are using IE One of the most common causes is actually an error in the Temporary Internet Files folder or an error in the Download Program Files folder.

KeymasterI haven’t used Internet Explorer in ages so out of curiosity I opened it up and tried to save an image and you guessed it, I have the same problem. Unfortunately after having tried the above suggestions which I know is what Microsoft also suggests, the problem still hasn’t been resolved even after having removed all downloaded program files. I wonder what else I could do. I hardly use IE enough to really care but in case I ever need to, it’d be good to resolve this now.
Do you suppose you have to do this with every account in Windows XP? Would that make a difference. I would try but my bro has a password on his account.

Participantwhat you can do is use a 3rd party app. to clean up your PC.I had this problem once and the above worked for me,but not for friend so he used another app. to clean up and it solved his problem.

KeymasterI don’t know if this is supposed to happen but in safe mode I see an account in Windows XP named “Administrator” and when I click on it a password is requested so I have no idea who it is and my brother doesn’t recall such an account.I cannot remove the account through control panel because it is a password account. (Note: In normal mode in control panel the account does not appear.)
Now I remember when I first got Windows XP I immediately got this worm that only affected windows xp where the computer would start a shutdown timer and restart, soon after being logged on an account. I remember the solution mentioned deleting this worm would form an account, and I clearly removed it and solved the whole problem using Norton Antivirus steps.
Now I recently ran Norton Antivirus, SpyBot, and Ad-Aware in Safe mode and no virus, trojan, adware or spyware was found. My computer hasn’t been acting funky or anything suspicious at all. Now everytime I go in safe mode (which I haven’t done in ages) I see that Administrator password protected account. I only see it when in safe mode. What could it be? Could it be just leftovers from the time I had that problem? Because I just ran a worm removal tool from Norton and cleared the account created and some system registries but not in safe mode.
