MemberOften times, I find myself forgetting the topics that I post in. It would be extremely handy to be able to execute a search for topics in which a specific member has posted. Although you can currently search for members, you have to enter a search string along with the members name. So, whenever memory fails me and I have to search for topics in which I have posted, I find myself going to the search form and using this as my search string “a b c d e f g h i j k l m n o p q r s t u v w x z”….not only does typing that get annoying, but the incessant highlighting becomes annoying. I propose a search option that allows searches for just topics that contain posts from a certain member. You could add another radio option, or just revert to this option when a blank search field is given.
What do you think about this idea? Am I the only one who can barely remember what I had for breakfast, forget about what topics I post in.

That’s a workaround, not a solution.
Suggestion is good Jeff. 🙂

MemberI have the same problem sometimes, too. I have found it easy to click on a persons name and going to “Find all non-archived posts by (fill in name here)”. This also works on your own name.
OK, maybe this is a workaround also. But it has worked for me so far. And it does fall under the “search.asp”, so therefore a solution shouldn’t be impossible.
Zlink123 Here is a shortcut for you! 😉

MemberThanks for the tip Lurking Biohazard, I had never come across this feature before. It is already proving useful :D. But, I think the change should still stand, because, unless I’m missing something, this feature isn’t too easy to find. Or perhaps making this feature more visible would be sufficient.

ParticipantQuote:quote:”Find all non-archived posts by (fill in name here)”.This only goes so far. It cuts out some oldies if its what your looking for.

I know it does. But I thought it would help in the meantime. I have found a way before to get the archived posts also. I would have to try and find how I did it again…

Or you could wait for SuperJeff to release his mad coding skillz on this case. 🙂
