:mad:I was actually searching this ‘line’ for something else and I find here the problem I have on certsain sites – An oblong with a Red square,Blue Triangle and Green Dot – instead of a picture, Can anyone tell me why please ?
Possibly the Internet Explorer settings – BUT how do I alter that I get the picture instead of this – I also sometimes get a blank page – and at the bottom is ‘done’ ???? HELP !!!:confused::eek:That happens when the picture on the site you are viewing is a 404. i.e: file is not found on the server. Regarding white page matter, that can be about:blank page??

I find that it – the picture – comes up on my older Computer running the same W98 SE, !!
Yes the other question about the page – It comes up blank and down at the bottom says ‘done’ This is often regarding the oblong pic as well, but not always, sometimes I get just a blank page. Can I alter that ?

When you see an image like this it means that Internet Explorer can not load the image. This is generally the webmasters fault and you cannot do anything about it.
Most common reasons:
– The image has been removed from the internet
– The webmaster typed the name of the image wrong
– The image is on a website which is experiencing problems or which your computer has no access to
– The image is corrupt
– Your computer does not support the format the image is inThere is nothing to worry about really, it’s just Internet Explorer’s way of telling you that the image cannot be loaded.
Try this…
In Internet Explorer, go to menu Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced (tab) -> Under Multimedia check the “Show pictures” checkboxHope this helps
Fimus, I have checked this area ,and all are ticked except the first two — Always show Internet Explorer Radio …. and.. Don’t display online media…
I find this very odd, especially when I can get them up on my older Comp running the same W98 SE.
robbiejIt’s probably your browser, and doesn’t depend on your operating system. Did you try looking at the images with a different browser, such as Netscape?
thanks for that – I downloaded Netscape and Hey Presto – I can see the one I want, but there are still sites that I get the box with red,blue,green dot,triangle and square on. Seems I cannot win !!!
I do have another problem :mad:- When I get (only some and mainly through a Yahoo mail site a friend is using) e-mails, they come as EML and I cannot open them, Any ideas ???:confused:
Someone said it could be my Outlook Express settings.(Version 6 on W/98SE)
If this be the case – – and I have checked them and all seem to be OK. WEhat can I do. I have Power Point.

Thanks for that – I have downloaded Netscape and it works – but I still have the odd problem – but as you say it could be the site manager.
ALSO…. can you help –I am getting mail from a friend who uses Yahoo for mail – and her ‘jokes’ come through and open as EML files – which when I try to open – will not do so.;) and come back to my Outlook page.
IF I save them and then try to open they come back as my Outlook Express mail site.as well :(- I have tried all sorts of ways, but cannot get them to show. I cannot know what file they are as there is no indication in the ‘File and save as ‘attachment.
I downloaded Irfanview and it SEEMED to start then ! Maybe it is me !!!:mad: I wrote to that developer who said it could not be Irfanwiew.
It is soooo annoying – So any help would be very much appreciated.
