ParticipantDoes anyone have any information on this application? I’ve been told by a friend that if somebody uses it, then can view your webcam WITHOUT their name showing up on the “wiewers” list and without you
even knowing they are watching you. I like to cam privately with my
boyfriend and the thought of somebody being able to watch my cam without my permission or without me even being able to KNOW they are watching scares the **** out of me.the url to the program is [snip]

MemberThe site does not say any thing about viewing with out permission. All it says is that you can store their names with out asking them. I doubt that this software can let you with out permission or any such thing.

MemberThat isn’t a real thing. Some guy is ripping people off. There is no such thing as letting you view someones webcam without them knowing. So if I was you I wouldn’t buy it cause there is no such program and the dude has riped alot of people off trying to sell this.

MemberIt is possible to do too. Someone did it to me a few weeks ago. They started talking to me and were telling me exactly what I was doing and what I was wearing. I don’t get on cam anymore beacuse of it. They were not in my list of people watching or anything. I dont know if they were using a program or what but it was really freaky.
EDIT: Text formatting removed. Same reason.

MemberIf someone plants a trojan on your computer that is capable of taking over your webcam, then yes.. it is possible for someone to view your cam without your permision… I must confess, in my younger years I experimented with this and know first hand how it works. Anyway, there is no way that I know of doing this through yahoo..
Get a good virus scanner sweet_baby_gurl.. one of your online friends probably sent you a trojan.

Memberaiight… all that stuff aside… theres other programs that allow u to do what sneek a peak does and they are for free… there is no way to get in a cam without the users cnsent, but there isa way to go invisible after u have gained access to the cam….

MemberYup. I even wrote a little page about this program, because it made me angry on how he tried to make it seem like it didn’t even ask for permission.
Quote:quote:I am just writing this because I noticed the Yahoo! Webcam viewing software “Sneak-A-Peek” Is BULL****! They try to make it seem as if it views without asking permission or anything at all! There is NO WAY TO DO THAT! If you see any site say they have a cam viewer that does not ask for permission, IT IS A LIE! If you read closely on Sneak-A-Peaks’ homepage, it says “Why Sneak-A-Peek? Sneak-A-Peek allows you to view cams without user knowing who you are!” You do NOT need to pay 29.99 to do that! If you want to do that for free, I have two programs you can try, both work, Alkie’s Anonymous Viewer, and my own, Anonview. If you want proof Anonview works, I have a screenshot here (by the way that is an old pic of me:)). Just look at my expression! . This person is just taking advantage of the huge demand for a cam viewer that requires no permission to view.Nick Morris

Memberwell well well …………. I looked at sneek-a-peek and the other programs on that site. they are all made with source codes the kid got from other sites. look at the popup blocker and the smiley tool. and wanna know the biggest disappointment? sneek-a-peek looks as tho that it may be partly MY SOURCE CODE!!!!!!!! which I released on a few sites a few months ago. I called it Cam Scan 2.3
anyways its just an anonymous viewer.
if anyone programs in VB6/.Net here, i’ll give you a few cam based source codes. and NOONE I repeat noone buy that lame **** oatmealmedia is selling.btw it is possible to view without permission 😉 however to do it you must do 2 things, one you must clone, steal or create their own cam view token which the yahoo server issues you when you view someone. #2 make 2 viewers using their own name and token connect, then disconnect one which will take their name out of the who is viewing list. can I do this? No, well even if I could I would say I couldnt *wink wink* 😉

MemberWho cares!?!?! If you want to waste $30 go ahead, it’s obvious that this is just another anonymous viewer. The guy never says it hacks cams anywhere on the site, so I don’t see why you people are even talking about it.
ainissesthai to sum up all of the chit chat over what is or is not possible. . . the answer to your question is No! it is very unlikely that this program is being used to hack your cam. Although it is possible to view you, you would have to be infected with a virus inorder for it to work.
See now that wasn’t so hard. Simple question, Simple answer.:D

MemberI hope you cannot do this. Some people actually like to be private. I hate the fact that people can tell you are invisible, this is even worse! Wow there are some weird people about! Privacy is a thing of the past…

ParticipantQuote:quote:Why Sneak-A-Peek?
Sneak-A-Peek allows you to view webcams without the user knowing who you are!
Sneak-A-Peek allows you to keep a list of screen names without having to get permission from the user. So, you can view webcams as the user name of “anonymous” and keep all the webcams you are viewing under one list (example on Oatmeal’s screenshot)… all for 30 bucks?! Last time, I checked, free 3rd party chat programs allowed you to do this.
As far as I’m concerned, someone should contact Paypal and explain that they are collecting money for fraud or lack of information, regarding the “view without having to have permission concept.”

MemberI got this prog, used for watching someone else’s webcam without their knowledge. I downloaded it from [snip] Try it if u want. Most of these hacking programs are registered as a virus by the anti-virus programs, but only to protect the internet from new hackers (don’t fall on this)

Most of these hacking programs are registered as a virus by the anti-virus programs, but only to protect the internet from new hackers (don’t fall on this)Um, no. The program took the idea from YahElite (as I stated back 3 years ago) and simply sends a request to user as “anonymous”. Any tool who allows you to view their webcam as annon is just a camwhore IMHO 🙂
If any user wishes to read up a little more, you can view this web forum from a year ago.
Don’t be stupid folks — enough Yahoo Messenger enthusiasts on this website have told you it’s a scam. Don’t go looking for a virus/trojan!

ParticipantMost “hacked” program are registered as virii or illegal software for a reason.
Please don’t advertise any illegal activity on the board or give users a false sense of security by saying these programs are safe even though they register as virii as they have security for a reason and sooner or later a program you think is fine will mess up your pc.
If you feel warranted enough to try such software yourself then fine you can be accountable for your own actions, but offering such suspicious software is ill advised to newcomers and people seeking help.
I for one would trust your anti virus software and stay away from said software.
better safe than sorry!

This is the type of thing you need to report to the correct authorities. Get a program called snagit you can record what this guy is saying in video form and whatever you see on the screen is recorded as a video which you can use as evidence.
Also to really be cruel tell him your under the age of 18 thatll scare him off.
