MemberThere will be a new build of ytunnel out tonight. *claps* The site was down earlier this week for a few days (four days) because my provider that provides the uplink to the internet went down thanks to to someone from the providers uplink managed to get their whole class C network on the SPEWS (spam list) which caused our uplink providers net to force to have to close their services. I wasnt the only one who bit the nuts, so were a few other companies that i know of. I lost a lot of money heh but thats okay. We relocated the machine and moved to a better provider wont ever have anymore problems. Oh yes, and the new version of ytunnel is pretty nice =) Ive messed around with it quite a bit. Well I have version 111. Anyway, Have a good evening. And keep your eyes out on the site.

MemberQuote:quote:Build 114 now available! – Nov. 6th, 2002Well it’s here. Build 114 has been posted. I’m sure there are a few people peeved about the expiration I included in Build 110 but I felt it necessary to include expirations in all beta versions starting with 110. The number one reason is because of bugs. Most of you who have been using Y!Tunnel since the beginning can attest to the fact that Yahoo! in fickle (and often stupid) when it comes to patching their servers. In the past this caused problems which I hope never see the light of day again! To this day I still get emails from people complaining about bugs or problems because they are using extremely old versions (A couple were using Build 93 which is so old I can’t recall when I originall posted it). So, as a method of protection I included the expiration.
So, what’s new in build 114? Well a LOT of bug fixes. So many that I really don’t remember them all. I would have to say that about 85% of the changes so minor and small that most people won’t notice them. The other 15% of the changes are big. This version now includes automatic and manual updates of the bootcode filters. This is kind of important since I’ve been so busy lately that I haven’t had a chance to download and test some of the new booters that have come out, some of which I am sure get past Y!Tunnel. So when I do get a chance to check them out, strip the bootcodes out of them and get a signature for them (Y!Tunnel works much like a virus scanner does) I can post a new signature file and you’ll be updated. Another feature I added was product alerts. This allows me to notify you of bugs and other issues that you may encounter when using the Beta versions. I may also use this to announce new releases.
Here is a small list of some of the changes included in this build:
Automatic and manual updates. When an updated signature file has been downloaded, a small window will popup in the lower right hand corner alerting you to the update. If a new product alert is available you will get the same kind of window and the Y!Tunnel icon will blink red.
Fixed a minor bug that caused Y!Tunnel to crash on some systems.
Fixed the connection problems encountered when the primary Yahoo server is unreachable. Y!Tunnel will now attempt to connect to alternate servers if the primary (or even an alternate server) is down. This needs a little more work though.
Fixed the problem some people were having with blank PM and conference windows coming up. This may not be totally fixed though :/
Fixed the problem of the huge PM windows.
Added the option to allow the log window to always be on top.
Added an option in the log window to ‘hide’ it.
Added strong bootcode filtering. This option will simply change possible non-ascii bootcodes to the ‘*’ character but will not block the PM or chat message that contains it.
Added an option to apply bootcode filtering to people on your buddy list.
Added an option to only show blocking notifications if the message or invite originated from somebody on your buddy list or from somebody in the same chatroom. This eliminates the chance of somebody trying to flood you with invites from multiple accounts or profile names and having the chatroom window scrolled with countless notifications.
Optimized the bootcode and flood detection a bit so people on lower end machines should see a bit of an increase in performance.Unfortunately I was unable to include the fix that some people were having due to the patches I applied to fix the file xfers. I discovered that the problem is not as simple to fix as I first thought. So instead of causing problems for even more people. One thing that might help is if you are on dialup make sure that you are connected to the internet before trying to connect and possibly before starting Y!Tunnel. This may or may not help but it seems like most of the people being effected by this problem are on dialup.

Jim you just click here >> http://ytunnel.digitalcitrus.com and go to the site, then go to the download page, download it and install it. when you get it installed be sure to turn it on EVERYTIME b4 you turn Yahoo on! Also be sure you set ur preferences! To do this you click Y!Tunnel on and then click the lil smiley it puts in ur tool bar. Its has a quick list of things to enable (i have them all chose) click the ones YOU want it to do then click Y!Tunnel Options, and set ur preferences! I ensure you if ya set it right you will be happy with the outcome! 🙂

Did the Ytunnel solve the problem your friend had? The one that had the problem where he could get into yahoo mail but not into messenger or chat.
And by the way thank you for letting me join…It seems like a nice group
