Memberhey, i’ve been having a problem with my AIM buddy list. it doesn’t seem to show everyone who is online. I know that I haven’t been blocked either, so that’s out of the question. I had quite a few of my friends who I could not see online confirm that they actually were. when I clicked on their profile link, it gives me an odd message which says, “service unavailable”. this is happening with only a handful of people on my buddy list and it is very annoying! does anyone know what the problem might be and how it might be fixed? thanks for your help.

MemberI have no idea what the problem is. But maybe if you re-install the program, then it’ll get better.

MemberI have never had this “service unavailable” error. All I can conclude is that AOL users have an option that allows them to “block” people by making themselves appear invisible to whom they blocked. Are these people using AIM or AOL? I might try using a backed-up copy of your buddy list (if you have one) to see if that works.

MemberIt’s happened to me too. Some people show up one of my bls, but not on the other (i use deadaim to clone). And I know that the people haven’t blocked me, and they’re not using aol. This happened to me a while back too, I think even before the invisibilty feature was available. I’ve never gotten the “service unavailable” error though. I’d also like to know if there’s a way to fix this.

MemberThis has never happened to me either. Maybe your buddies are using privacy settings to block screennames that aren’t on their list.

MemberWell there is an option that you can become invisible to everyone and then there is another other that you can have it so only ppl on your buddylist can see you…that might be it so it might not be on your end

Memberthat’s not how it is in my problem. I know these people are not choosing to be invisible to me.
