MemberI got an E-mail from a friend real recently ..I’m not sure what to tell her so I posted it here for her. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
OK Mark,
I’ve ran into a few things that are bugging me .
I told you about my stalker right? Well he scared me so badly on My Hp which is My computer I stopped using Yahoo and everything. When I reformatted I only put on there the necessary things the Only extra thing I have on here is spy bot.Since I reformatted my Record Now was acting a little Funky so Hp has an application recovery. I deleted record now & was in the process of recovering the application when Nortons flashed across my screen with a warning about it containing a Malicious script. I got 3 different warnings.
Since I was trying to replace my record now instead of blocking them I decided to run them once. Stupid me after I decided this then I started reading up on it. And Nortons said if you allow it to run once then it might spread to other applications. I started having second thoughts and deleted it again. Then after deleting it a second time I decided to run it once more and see if Norton’s would bring up the Warnings. Of course it didn’t ( did I mention I took screen prints of the first ones which I will include so you can see I am NOT losing my mind ).
Here are my questions :
1. Since record now was already on my system and I decided to delete it and then reinstall it to try to fix it why would Nortons bring up a Malicious script error on it?
2. I am in the process of running my Nortons anti-virus2004 again just to make sure it is checking my whole system. Record now came with my computer, it is NOT something I just recently installed. It is on my recovery discs also ( or reformatting discs, if you will) . How can this all of a sudden be a malicious script?
3. Our computers are linked through a Wireless B Linksys Broadband Router. I told you on the other computer I kept all my ids the same since my stalker hit me with a key logger, I questioned our Isp and asked them if we have a static ip address. They said we don’t but when we unplug the router and modem and the computers, it searches for an ip address and if ours is still open chances are we will get the same one.
If my stalker got my ip address and it hasn’t changed. And since both computers are linked through a router is it possible for him to be on the one but still be on the other because the ip is the same? Hope that makes sense. If he is on ( by on I mean if he hid a key logger on the system of Comp #1) could he actually gain access to Comp #2 because of the ip being the same on both computers?
4. And would that mean if I reformat Comp # 2 it wouldn’t matter because he would still be on Comp # 1 and until both are reformatted then he will not actually be gone?
5. Once someone gains access to your computer even if you reformat from the discs themselves, if you add anything that was on your computer before ie pictures, journals, yahoo Sn does that mean he will still have access to the clean system?
See I thought that if I cleaned the one system & reformatted and didn’t add yahoo or anything on it , he wouldn’t be able to gain access to it . But common sense tells me if the ip addresses are the same for both computers. He will always have access Unless I totally clean both systems and never log into or use anything that was on the infected systems.
I have pictures and journals on some floppy discs well in the process of trying to find an empty disc to show you the error messages from Nortons I put one in . Not knowing it still had things on it. Since I inserted this into my drive of the clean system does that mean now that this freak can get ahold of me again,Or was I fooling myself into thinking I was finally free of him ?
The other computer has all my Old yahoo ids or Sn . Even this one xxxxxx is one I’ve had for awhile. If I continue to use them on the othe computer he will forever be allowed access to my Hewlett Puckered because the other computer and Hewlett are linked together through a linksys router. Am I on the right track or am I crazy?
I will attach the pictures to this email so that you can view the error messages I received. I will let you know what my Nortons Anti Virus found and I will be awaiting your answers.
Thanks again for your help ( P.S. how was dinner? What did you have? Did you save some for me? )

Keymasterwell that tells me without going into too much that you have a static ip – hence you can change it if you are running thru a server then you could assign IP manually
