pearl
MemberI have some questions:
1.My friend can always identify me no matter how many times I changed ID or even when I just stayed quietly in a room. I’m on dial up. How did he do that? How do I know if I’m hacked?
2.Is there any way we could see who’s booting us?
3.I put voice in my profile. But after several days or weeks, suddenly the link doesn’t work. I have to redo it again. But after a while the same thing happened again. Why is that and how to fix it?
Thanks.

MemberYou have some very common problems…a good place to start is here…..https://bigblueball.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=5275 The FAQ on the site is very informative. THEN, if you still have more questions, try the search function…you’ll see it up at the top left just below the pictures of the various sections of the site. Put in some key words and you’ll get some old posts where your questions should be answered. Just as a quick answer….using a third party to connect to chat can tell you who is booting. Welcome to the site and I’m sure you’ll get lot’s of help for anything that doesn’t include the “H” word. 🙂

MemberThanks for your answers guys. And thanks for the info Oreo.
I’ve once tried to install anti-spyware but it won’t connect even I’ve followed all instructions. But I’ll try to look for different type that is less complicated. Anything u can recommend? Now I’m using ZA.
Oreo, do u mean reporting as in topic id=3305? He did it not in an obvious way so it’s hard to prove. I’m not so sure he stalks. But the fact that he can identify me even when I use new ID makes me wonder if he’s hacked me and how far he can get into my computer. I’ve asked him about that matter but he never answered seriously and avoid further discussion bout that.
How in Yahelite can you see the booter’s ID? I asked my friend to boot me for a test but I couldn’t see it.

MemberOkay, here’s the skinny, third party chat clients don’t tell you who’s booting you because booters use bots to send a barrage of messagues full of HTML code that causes a buffer overflow in your yhaoo (or other chat clients). They make these bots under a totally different name, and these bots then replicate themselves so there are several of them at one time. The only thing a third party chat client will do as far as booting is concerned, is cut down on the chances of you being booted. If you get booted a lot, then you might want to try a program called Y!mLite, I’ve mentioned it a hundred times now, and I’ll say it gain, I use it, and I’ve never been booted, plus it’s easy to use.:p Now, as far as your “hacking” problem, my advice, run a trojan scanner/spyware scanner, such as Spybot S&D (which is free) and update and run your anti-virus software. Other than that, the only way to really make sure you dont’ have a virus is to reformatt your comp, which i doubt you really want to do. So, do your scans, and if you need a trojan scanner, you can try this one for 30 days http://tds.diamondcs.com.au/index.php?page=download . It’s pretty simple, and i liked it, but you’ld be better off using your anti-virus. Hope this helps at least a little bit. ^_^

MemberMy Ymlite is surely bootable, I had it tested. Maybe u don’t get booted because u have firewalls or sth to add protection. Do you mean if booters use ID instead of bots then we can see their IDs?
I already d/l TDS-3. Thanks. What Trojan files look like? Cos it detected many files which I think r not Trojan. I don’t want to delete harmless useful files. Geeez… I’m really not good at this.

MemberPearl the trogan scanner didnt delete the trogans for you or offer to fix the problem ?
Y!mlite is unbootable if you login using DHTML setting also under Yoptions pm tab uncheck everything but the top two boxes.Next you tried using spybot S&D and it wouldnt run ? try using ad aware6 you can get it here :http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=506
adware is an anti spyware program like spybot it easy to use , if you are really unsure that you dont want to delete a needed trogan you can look it up here http://vil.nai.com/vil/default.asp
But Really THERE IS NO GOOD TROGAN DELETE THEM ALL , or post the names that the scanner found and I or someone on here will advise you .I would say you have a spy on your pc and until you delete those programs you stalker will always know who you are . BTW did any of the trogans say they were a keylogger ? if so that how the person knows you ( key loggers log every key stroke made and send an email of everything typed back to who ever set it up you probly downloaded it thinking it was a pic that wouldnt open or a program that did nt work , hope this helps .February 19, 2004 at 5:29 am #84574pearl
MemberQuote:quote:…or post the names that the scanner found and I or someone on here will advise you .It’s very kind of you riff raff. I got different results using TDC-3 and Ad-aware 6.
These are the files detected by TDC-3 :
Ymsg5log.dll (this is a keylog file)
Syn.dll
Speedblastert_3.0.4.exe
Tmp33b5.dll
Tmpc004.dll
YaheliteYaha.bat.pifAnd by ad-aware 6 (sorry, can’t copy paste as right click won’t work):

Thanks a lot!

(4). Change you’re Yahoo passwordMarch 9, 2004 at 6:19 am #84572pearl
MemberThanks guys for your replies. I’ve changed PW and cleaned all the bugs with TDS-3, Ad-Aware 6 (lavasoft), Trojan Remover (simplysuper) and NAV but dunno the outcome (whether or not he can still stalk me) as I don’t chat much lately. But I left 1 bug which is detected by TDS-3 :
<edit – images cannot be shown directly from your own computer. You are the only one who can see this image Pearl. Please use a free webhost to upload any images you wish to show us. -Shifter>I’m not sure if it means really there’s a bug on that file or it’s just a demo sample because as you can see on the above image after it was detected then there’s a line saying that it was a demo version. I can’t delete it as it is a kernel file.
What’s using clients got to do with spying? Are they harder to spy on? But clients are cool as they’re much more boot resistant.
Another problem is, apparently NAV is not compatible with ZA. Can anyone suggest which one to choose?
1 more thing, a guy said that he’s just put a Trojan in my c (cos I keep rejecting his PM :P). So I scanned with everything I have but found nothing except the above bug that has been there before his threat. So I guess he’s bluffing?
March 9, 2004 at 4:22 pm #84561uppyman
MemberIf NAV doesn’t like ZA….try sygate…I don’t use it as ZA works fine for me. For all your spyware problems and fears why not join a forum such as http://www.cybertechhelp.com/ They use a prog called hijack this, that knowlegable folks can check and tell you what to delete. Most PC probs these days are down to spyware.;)
