MemberI would think if you went to the site, and clicked on “Lost Password” and asked them to email it to you. As long as ALL the information in the account was not changed, they would email you the new password. However, if whoever took this data, has change the email address, etc. then I think you’re out of luck. Sorry.

MemberOk, so what you are saying is that you lost a password to an individual, not to a particular site??? Well since you didn’t SAY What site that your user name and password was taken from, I will have to GUESS it is yahoo! So…. If you go to the “YAHOO” site, and click the link that says “lost password” or “can’t remember password” see if they will email the new one back to you. I wasn’t telling you to go to the person and ask for the password back. lol “doh”

ParticipantJoe, the one information they can’t change is your birthdate. There is a slim possiblity that if you send an e-mail to yahoo, tell them the story and provide your birthdate as proof of being the owner of the account you may be able to get it back. On the other hand, given that you were silly enough to give your password to some complete stranger, chances that you also gave them your birthdate is strong. However, what do you have left to lose? Worst case scenario, yahoo will refuse to give you the password. Then just try and lock the person out of your account. If you can’t use it, they shouldn’t either. (Bad anti social attitude, but it IS your account after all).

MemberFirst off, NEVER EVER give your password to anyone, lol, second off you need to figure out how someone got your id, cause theres dozens of different ways to steal them, to get your id back, go here and put in your id, your birthdate, zipcode, and country, http://edit.yahoo.com/config/eval_forgot_pw?new=1&.done=http://my.yahoo.com/&.src=my&partner=&.intl=us
then hit Get New Password, and as long as the person didn’t change your zipcode you should be able to answer your secret question, or email yourself a new password if they didn’t change your alternate email. And if that doesn’t work you can contact Yahoo! Yahoo! Inc.

and you have to give them all of the ORIGINAL info from when u created the account, they should give you the name back, but if they account was deactivated, i have heard recently that you have to get a subpoena to get it reactivated, they might ask for a fax of a photo id to prove you are you, cause me an a lot of my friends have used this method to steal many ids LOL, lemme know if you can get it back or not, and try to figure out how it was taken in the first place so it doesn’t happen again i have a few ideas. -
