Member😡 To continue with a earlier post by another member, the same thing happened to me tonight. I was on yahoo, and right in the middle of a conversation as a matter of fact, when not only was I signed out, but my password was changed, and my info to retrieve it was invalid… same thing with a friend of mine in the same night, cept, we think its a virus, because from -his- screen name, someone send out a mass message with a web link… well, I thought it was my friend, whom I know in real like, not from the internet, and just automatically clicked on it. Boom. Same thing happened to me as it did to him. Has this happened to anyone else, and if so, does anyone one know ANYTHING about how to possibly fix this, or get some help? Thanks!

MemberDid you read the posts on Magic PS? Or the ones about clicking on links? There are a lot of things that might have happened to you and ways that you might be able to solve it. I take it those did not work? If you could post again and let us know what you’ve tried it will be easier to help you. If you want to include your OS (i.e. Windows 98, XP, Mac…) that could be helpful, but even more helpful would be to let us know your version of Yahoo!. We’ll get to the bottom of this most likely and you’ll be IM’ing before you know it. 🙂

MemberAs I suggested above you need to search this site. Your problems are not new. You probably have MAGIC PS, it steals your password. Try the suggestions already on the site and THEN if those don’t work let us know what you have tried. You can use the search feature we have, you may want to use the advanced search. Let us know how things work out.

MemberIf you can email yahoo the original account information-the information you entered when you first created the account-(ie)zip code, secret question and answer, date of birth, then yahoo can help you regardless of whether the information was changed by someone else. http://add.yahoo.com/fast/help/us/security/cgi_feedback
There are many different password stealers out there, and it doesnt necessarily mean its a virus,it could simply just be a url hack.

MemberIf you click on a link that requires a password, best thing to do is close it.If it’s a friend they’ll let you know. I’ve signed into one of those and immediatly went to change my password after i noticed it was bogus.
