I downloaded the latest yahoo messenger. i can see my own cam window working fine, but when someone else tries to see my webcam , he sees a distorted and colorless image. but the cam works fine with msn messnger and broadcasts well.
could anyone please tell me how could i get it corrected.

Have you went into the Camera Settings in Preferences and changed source to your camera driver and adjusted the settings like hue and colour, etc?
You may also need to update the DLL’s used for webcam wrapping from yahoo!
thanks for the reply. i have checked the camera settings. they are fine and work welll with msn too.
what are the dlls that are needed to upgrade and what are wrappers! could u please guide me further.

it may be the cam wrapper… you might want to try the solution suggested by Strigoi here https://bigblueball.com/forums/yahoo-messenger-support/32784-webcam-trouble-3.html#post190654, it worked for me.Good luck
The webcam wrappers are only used for chat 2.0. but if you insist on trying, the wrappers can be found at:
upload wrapper – http://chat.yahoo.com/c/webcam/upload.html
viewer wrapper – http://chat.yahoo.com/c/webcam/view.htmlTurn off any popup blocker that may be running.
The webcam wrappers are just cab files that contain the files needed for webcam use.
both chat variants use the same dll’s for webcam viewing and broadcasting.
just in chat 2.0 it was wrapped in a cab file for download when messenger has them in its install.
Same reason YCABBY from YahELite site would work also.
