The past few days when I try to log on to aim I get the error box ‘ aim service cannot be reached’. Thats bs cuz i’m already logged in to aim with a clone through deadaim. When I press more info, it directs me to an aol site and theres a link for aim users to log in. When I click it it logs me in . It doesnt do it all the time. Whats this all about. Does anyone know? Its never done it before. Also, I noticed that my port number to sign in and out of aim got changed somehow to 13 and 20 and I cant log in, but when I change them back to where they should be it logs me in. Why is this happening all of a sudden? Seems like aim has weird stuff coming and going all the time. If anyone has any ideas on these, I’d appreciate it.
what is it changing the server to? something else must be changing them. are you using any aim progs or add-ons besides deadaim?
Nope, just deadaim. The server is still ‘login.oscar.aol.com’ but the port numbers change. normally its 5190.
I tracked down the site that I get redirected to and its cdn.aol.com/ae/CheckAIM.html=aimexpress.aol.com
then I click the link that says aim users log in and it logs me on. Very strange. I dont have aim express. Like I said it just started doing it yesterday and it did it again this morning.
