Participantis there a way to take out buttons from IM windows? I have aim 5.5 and theres a video button that I do not want there because aimutation skins dont have a skin to change it.. and basically I wanna take it out because I wont use it and same goes for the “games” button
OR
which aim version starts the IM video feature? because then I would download the one before it.. yes I know theres 5.2 and I have 5.5 currently but isnt there some versions in between?

wrong. yes you can take them out, you simply delete the bitmaps from Aimres.dll with ResHacker (do a google search for it)… just browse through the bitmaps section and delete the buttons you dont want

MemberI was referring to his question “Is there a version between 5.2 and 5.5?” and there is no version in between.

Participantwell in that case, yes. sgebert is right about that, there was no 5.3 or 5.4. lets all thank the good people at AOL for that consistency. however, the sad thing is, with each new version release, the older (meaning: more stable, less junk-filled) ones get left behind to die. most of those old versions are becoming obsolete, and there’s a possibility that they wont connect (i wouldnt know about that last part for sure though, I didnt get into AIM until the late 5.2s were out.)
