KeymasterSaw the Matrix Reloaded last night at the first local showing. The show was scheduled to start at 10pm, and we got there at 6:35, but there was already a line for seats. It was playing on four screens last night, and judging by the lines, it was sold out on all of them.
The movie didn’t grab me quite the way the first one did, perhaps because it’s not entirely new. But it is very good. If you’re a fan of the Matrix, you’ll probably want to see this on the big screen more than once to take it all in.
There are some interesting plot twists.
And be sure to sit through all the credits. Many of the people in our theater left during the closing credits, and missed the teaser for the final installment, to be released in November.
I’ve also heard that Reloaded will be playing in iMax theaters beginning in June, so I’ll probably go back and see it “super-sized.”
Anyone else see it yet??? 😎

MemberI saw it last night and I thought it was amazing, good action at the beginging, then a little slow for a bit while they got the seriousness and the story out there, then pretty much full action and bad *ssness from there on out, the end is like LOTR letting you kno there is more to come and THANK GOD we don’t have to wait another 4 yrs for the 3rd one!!!! It is awesome! I read in entertainment weekly that this movie has a 1000 scenes of computer animation, where as the first only had about 400, so of course it is a bit hard to dazzle you because there is no surprise of the action and special never done before scene shooting like last time, but i think the effort they put in more than makes up for that!!! 🙂 Neo is the sh*znots!!!!

MemberHehehe
Why do I laugh? Well, It does not get here until next week…I just think is funny, why do they do that?, why do we have to wait? I don’t quite understand that, anybody knows?Natalia hoping to get to give my opinion in this topic soon

MemberI saw it, its very good, but like jeff said it isnt quite as good as the first. But well worth the 8 dollars for the ticket, and dont forget the 4 dollars for a large soda and 4 dollars for large popcorn. Pretty soon going to be so expensive you have to take out a loan to go to a movie, specially if your on a date.
Where do you live sciencefeeling?

ParticipantMy mom seen it, and all she said was …….
“It was too long”
I’ll see it soon.May 21, 2003 at 2:01 am #96332darkjedi
Memberlol october, your right though hehehe. uh detn8r how was it to long? it wasnt almost 4 hours like gods and generals or even 3 hours like LOTR, it was 2.5 hours long the same as most movies.
May 21, 2003 at 6:29 am #96320detn8r
ParticipantYour average movie is not two and a half hours. But it doesnt matter. I said ‘my mom’, not me, so dont question it :D. I on the other hand dont think that a 2.5 hour movie is long. I actuallt just finished watching a 4 hour movie on Hitler today (Hitler: Rise of evil).

MemberOk, here comes the spoiler!!!!!
Didn’t you know childs always do what you tell them not to, jeff?? (you should know me better, hehehe).
I saw it last thursday and I didn’t post until today because I didn’t feel like thinking about it after the big, huge, enourmous feeling of having been cheated my somebody when I left the theatre.
I though it was childish, violent and adult escenes didn’t quite connect to the movie argument and looked as if they were put there just because they sell.
The “I love you too much…(I won’t be more explicit cause there is people that didn’t see it yet)”, it is just sooooooooooo predictable. Some fights really didn’t make any sense, was just like a video-game, something you have to go through so you can get to the next level.
They could have just shot the last 20 minutes and move on to the third part…
After the bad critics, in my opinion well deserved, Reeves goes on tv saying critics should see it again. And my though was, yeah right, and you shouldn’t sell yourself for couple of milions, to do this crap (is that a bad word)?…and loose your dignity as an actor.
Now the good part is…the computer assisted scenes where great, yes, but a movie is a story complemented with effects not effects complemented with a story…at least in my opinion, they forgot what the movie was about, they transformed it from a cult movie to a superficial superproduction, good for them!!

ParticipantHmmm, since it appears that english is likely not your first language I won’t comment on your horribly put together sentences.
But as to your comments about the film, (You never actually did put a spoiler in your post btw):
1. I wonder what you expected to get out of this movie?? How can anyone expect to top a movie that had the ability to change the way we think about life! They expanded on the story and did it very well. I won’t spoil it here but I loved the new twists on the One.
2. How can you say it was predictable?? are you telling me you new that (SPOILER) and that (SPOILER) was going to happen??? I doubt it.
3. And perhaps you never heard that Keaunu actually gave up his share of the films profits so that they could afford to put in all the special effects. And if you think this was crap then what is good? Charlie’s Angels 2 perhaps is more up your alley??May 29, 2003 at 10:39 am #96324sciencefeeling
MemberThe first sentence was ironic, but…I guess my english is not good enough to reflect that, sorry about that.
1. You can call me a lier, or understimate my intelligence, but I DID know what was going to happen. It was sooooo predicatble, I repeat.
2. He could have given the profit to charity if he really wanted to do something good for society…
3. And if you liked this movie, i am sure Charlie’s Angels is more of your taste than mine, my favourite movie is The Godfather…that is my concept of good (you know great acting, good story…ups sorry I guess you don’t know).
4. I did like the first part, I actually like it a lot, that does not force me to like the second.
And please just don’t insult my intelligence….don’t you see there is no point, is quite clear where we both stand…May 29, 2003 at 11:22 am #96331OctoberTheHottie
Memberwell, i agree with shifter….. awesome….

Shifter, since it appears that you have no manners, I won’t comment on your rudeness. (get my point??) 😀
Frankly, I left with much the same impression as Sciencefeeling, although I’ll go see Reloaded again when it comes out on iMax in June. What movie is better? The first Matrix was far superior, in my opinion. Yes, the effects were wonderful, but they didn’t (for me) have the same impact that they had in the first movie. The long action sequences seemed almost disconnected from the true story.
I’m hoping that Reloaded is just suffering from the “middle-movie” syndrome, and that Revolutions will tie everything back together. Wouldn’t it be cool if some theater offered to show all three movies back-to-back?

ParticipantI apologize for my rudeness 😮
Quote:quote:Hmmm, since it appears that english is likely not your first language I won’t comment on your horribly put together sentences. It was uncalled for. I’m a big fan of the Matrix, and i got a bit carried away. We are each entilted to our own views :p Sorry sciencefeeling 🙁
I do agree that the first Matrix was waaaay better, but i was not dissapointed with Reloaded.
Anyway, I better go see when Charlies Angels 2 is playin…….
P.S. I loved the Godfather movies too…
OK SPOILER HERE DONT READ IF YOU HAVEN’T SEEN THIS MOVIE
btw sciencefeeling ( i cant seem to leave this well enough alone)….How did you predict that neo was not the first One? And that the Oracle was actually working for the machines, and that Neo would posses power over the machines in the real world after he denied the maker??? I must be slow cuz i never saw those comin…must just be me though.OK I have one complaint about Reloaded…I understood it. I had to watch the first Matrix like 3 times before i figured out what the hell was going on. I like having to think sometimes yknow.
