MemberNicole and Paris Are back! June 4th, on the E! Network, a fourth season of The Simple Life, subtitled: ‘Till Death Do us Part, will air at 10PM. FOX dropped the series after the third season, due to “maximums of show quotas” and Paris and Nicoles “fall-out” as friends. E! Picked up the series however, and is showing all 3 previous seasons (The Simple Life; The Simple Life 2: Road Trip; The Simple life 3: Interns) untill it’s premier of the fourth.
In the first season, Paris and Nicole agreed to leave behind their cellphones, credit cards and celebrity status to move in with the Leding family in Altus, Arkansas for a month.
What was supposed to be an assignment in learning how to adapt to doing chores and getting their hands dirty turned out to be an experiment in failure. In the process they would ruin a dairy farmer’s milk supply, wreak havoc at a local Sonic Drive-In and take advantage of an employer’s credit card, ultimately getting fired from every job they took up. This was greatly upsetting to the Leding family. Despite all of this, the two would often get a lesson in reality check 101 from the family themselves. As for whether the girls took it to heart left something to be desired.
A second season, subtitled Road Trip, began broadcasting in the summer of 2004. In this season, Paris and Nicole traveled across the United States in a pink pickup truck, pulling an Airstream trailer. They participated in such activities as catching crawfish, working as maids in a nudist resort, and sausage making.

The third season, subtitled “Interns”, would see Paris and Nicole take various internships with companies along the East Coast of the United States. The girls traveled around the northeast United States via the Greyhound Bus company’s publicly available bus routes. But unlike season 2, this time around the girls did not have a swanky home on wheels and instead were travelling around the northeast in a regular Greyhound bus that was also ferrying normal members of the public that are travelling to the same destination.
The season featured one memorable encounter with twin baby orangutans from Parrot Jungle Island in Miami, Florida. Nicole Richie’s fiance DJ Adam Goldstein also appeared in this season when he surprised Nicole and took her on a date. In this season, there were episodes where they were given little or no money while interning, or their internships were shortened because instead of doing their work, they would do something like have manicures, read magazines, play with chairs, tell jokes to people, and go to mini-marts (in a police cruiser).
So, what’s New in Season 4? Well, Paris and Nicole will be playing “Wife” in two different families. In a similar fashion to “Wife Swap”, they will be juggling chores, married life, and kids. They will be shot seperatly, “intercut” so that they are fully in each episode. Then, the family will decide who was the best fit.Although Paris and Nicole are not known as friends any longer, Paris Confirmed that they will only be shot side by side in two of the 10 episodes of the fourth season, despite not talking.
Paris stated: “This is the best season yet, I had a great time filming it.” She also said: “There is a surprise at the end of the season.” Rumors have it that Paris and Nicole will get back together at the end of the fourth season. We can only hope this is one of the “true” rumors. =) You can really see how deep there friendship was during the first three seasons, it only makes sense they would get back together. A 5th season may also be in plans, rumors speculate.“The producers and stars say it’s the funniest season ever,” according to the E! Network. And as a watcher of all the previous seasons, I have to admit the show itself is creative, wity, and a good laugh-getter, so don’t miss out! =)

Participanti can only agree with sami. and CAD.
i can’t believe someone convinced a producer that this show should survive into another season. did that many people really watch it? it’s like watching a train wreck, i suppose… it’s a complete disaster and it sickens you to watch, but you just can’t look away.
neither of those girls has any discernable talent other than… well… um… ok scratch that. no discernable talent. i can only imagine what they’ll be like as “wives”i wont be watching. and… don’t let me know how it goes.

MemberI have the first two seasons on DVD that happened to be in the 2 for $11 bin at Wal-Mart. It’s somewhat amusing. You know they are not really that stupid, producers are telling them what to do, I’m sure.
It will not be something that I sit down and watch every week, but if it happens to show at 3 am and I cannot fall asleep, then MAYBE I’ll watch.

Memberum wasn’t a simple life a remake from a classic thriller about two retarded monkeys trapped in a glass box with a box of cheerios and a cluster of bananas. or was that a reoccuring nightmare I had once. oh well

In the last episode of the season, a cow that Paris and Nicole purchased in order to save it’s life, was delivered into Paris’ house. When Paris touched the cow, the cow hit her stomach. “We have to keep her away from the animals” Nicole remarked.
The ratings continued to climb during the season, and Fox were quick to announce heading into production on Season 3. Not before airing a special episode titled “The Simple Life – The Stuff We Weren’t Allowed To Show You” on November 17th, 2004. The special showcased several cut scenes from the season (some of which appear on the season 2 DVD) as well as preview clips for the third season.

So, the show itself catches intrest of some people, with average ratings.
*Slowly Backs away from Sami, Tom, and Sarah*Ok, when I first saw the show I felt like, the show was, trash.
After a few shows, I got hooked. It is just, amusing to me. =)Paris isn’t that self centered in the series. If you look closely, she actually cares about others, and tries to help out. (Ex: Paris helped a husband become more romantic to his wife, and both husband/wife thanked her.) She also helped people at a rather dry workplace have some fun, while her and Nicole opened a small “Office Club”. Everyone at the workplace was having a blast, and they all thanked her and Nicole.
She also made a little girl’s birthday wish come true:http://insider.tv.yahoo.com/celeb/3926/
It is understandable why someone would poke fun at Paris… But the good, thoughtfull things she does just doesn’t reach the headlines. She isn’t all that ditzy. :-/

MemberThe Simple Life is a guilty pleasure for me. I am actually looking forward to this new season – They aren’t speaking to each other as far as I know, so it should be interesting to see how that factors in to the show. I also think this season will open their eyes a little – they’re both so eager and overzealous to jump into a marriage, and this will kind of simulate that experience.
I don’t think it’ll change them too much though, they still both seem to want to hire maids when they DO have kids… (http://www.eonline.com/On/SimpleLife4/SimpleLessons/index.html)

MemberHas anyone been keeping up with the show?
I think it’s really entertaining. I liked the cultural touch this week (in addition to having to be a wife/mother, they were exposed to Muslim/Pakistani culture), and that was interesting AND fun(ny) to watch.
At the end, the wife said they had both seemed to be tolerant of the culture, but I wish she/her family would have picked an actual winner…

MemberSaveMe, well, looks like we’re the only fans so far… :p But hey, I think the show is alright. I mean, I personally don’t like it -as- much as the previous seasons (due to the fact they are seperated), but it’s still pretty entertaining. Oh, and the last show is about “Keeping the Spark Alive”… And Nicole makes a “special” Calander for the wife… I won’t give away the episode though, you’re going to have to see for yourself. 😉
Oh, and the show is doing excellent!
The fourth season premiered on June 4th, 2006, drawing 1.3 million viewers. While those ratings would have been dismal for Fox, it was actually more than four times E!’s prime-time average. And in key adult demographic groups, ratings more than tripled from the network’s average.

So, the possibility of another season with the E! network is quite possible.
***News Flash*** Paris and Nicole’s “Fall out as Friends” was a scam! Paris confirmed on the Late Show with David Letterman that “It was just a thing for the show”. … Notice how Paris, and Nicole, never go into details about the “fall out”? That’s because there never was one. :p
Paris also stated: “There is a surprise at the end of the Season”. Online rumors suggest they “get back together” at the end of the season. And also they will be filming another 5th season, Together. We’ll just have to hope this is a true rumor won’t we. =)

MemberHey, I like it, too! Awesome to see that it’s doing well. I wouldn’t mind seeing another season, particularly if those two DO make up with each other. I miss seeing them together. I saw the Letterman interview but I don’t think she actually admitted that it was “a thing for the show” – she just said something MIGHT happen and that it’s a surprise. Trying to get us to watch, no doubt 🙂 I will be watching tonight for show – don’t forget it’s at 10!
