MemberIs it possible to get ThemeXP onto Windows 98? Or is there a program made for Windows 98 that can handle XP themes?

MemberThere are programs which let you have XP Style Icons in Windows 98 and ME, but not the themes. You can download the icons one from http://www.download.com search for “XP Icon Raider” or “XP Icons”

MemberI don’t necessarily want my desktop to look like XP. But just to have the same skinning options. But I guess I can’t do it with Windows 98 then.

ParticipantYou sure can, with the right tools. Try Windows Blinds.

MemberI’ve tried Windows Blinds before, its pretty good, but slows down my computer alot, so it isn’t very ideal for me.

ParticipantHave you thought that maybe your computer isn’t powerful enough to run skinning software?

MemberI’m not sure if I can run skinning software. But I’m sure I can run Windows XP.
I have P3-650, 128mb. Kinda old, but i know people with less RAM who can run XP. Even though they recommend 256mb.

ParticipantTechnically yes, you could run XP, but it would be so slow you would go insane. 128Mb is not enough to run graphics intensive apps like skinning software. Stick with what you got, or upgrade your memory.

Agreed, 128MB is very low by today’s Windows standards. Unless you have 512MB or more, don’t waste your system to visual styles and skins.
I have 1.00GB or RAM (DDR400) and I still don’t like the slight lag, LOL.

Right-Click on My Computer -> Properties -> General Tab
OR:
Control Panel -> System Icon -> General Tab
