For some reason when I go in a chat room and I am there any length of time. I see the chat room window jump and it seems to be when another person sends a sentence to the room. Not only that from time to time the name list will flicker as well. At first I thought it might be either an active x or a java setting on my end that makes these things happen.
Now I am not so sure that is it at all so. I’ve run both Spy Bot and Ad-aware and see nothing in the report that looks like that is doing it.I’ve also uninstalled and then re-installed the messenger and that does nothing to help. I’ve also uninstalled my firewall and tried messenger that way to see if it still happens and it does..Anyone else ever seen this happen and if so any idea on the best way to fix it ??? 😮
Your chat room window jumps? Do you mean that it pauses for a while then a whole bunch of text will scroll?
And about your name list flickering …. Ours used to do that. Before we got our new computer … we had an old Pentium 2 400mHz which would cause our chat to lag. So occasionally the chat text would scroll and the room list would “flicker” but it was because we were lagging. Do you run voice? If so, does the person talking usually sound real choppy or not-normal in anyway? That was an effect of lagging on ours.
So depending on your operating system, that could be the problem.Hi J N thank you for you’re reply .:D
I’m not really sure how to describe what I mean by a jumpy chat room window other than to say yes it will kind of pause then chat will appear.
It is almost like watching a t.v. and seeing the screen roll. In this case the chat window will do that and then it will be fine for afew minutes then when anyone sends text it will do it again. I do run voice yes. Now that you mention it. I have just recently heard people on the mic sound choppy and distorted. I think you may have very well just helped me figure out what is going on..😀 Thank you – Mark
