MemberOMG!!!! Alright, since this is a family friendly forum I cannot say what I am thinking right now and since I’ve just had a bad day it’s most likely better that I not…but I would loooooove to meet this person and show them exactly what a woman is and “answer” all of those questions.
😡 😡 😡 😡

KeymasterIt’s really surprising to see a staff member of a big site like that post such statement. Not that any of us are beyond reproach, but it seems obvious that his post would be offensive to women.
Maybe common sense and courtesy are not-so-common. A friend of mine blogged about her experience on another forum for last.fm (a site that I use to track the music I listen to). In this case, it wasn’t a gender issue (at least, I don’t think it was), but she got banned from the forum after her very first post. Her crime? Her signature was too long.

MemberI could not believe that post. How disrespectful can you get?
I have emailed the editor and asked for his comments.

ParticipantIgnorant people write ignorant things. He’s gonna be a lonely guy with attitude like that.
Nuff said.

MemberThat seemed a little tricky a post from a staff member. I wasn’t terribly offended, as it brought to mind jokes made from any stand up comedian that usually poke fun at both men and women, it seemed much like that kind of genre. However, again, it did seem odd from a staff member.
“““““
As for my issue, that Jeff pointed out. I would hate to think that nice people are going to forums with distinct issues, seeking out communities for help and receiving the same kind of treatment I got. My opinion of Last.fm has really hit rock bottom.
I in fact joined it for the feature of having my listened to tracks listed, the idea of a music community, and the option of linking to the tracks to my blog. I think it was early that I joined, as I remember them asking for donations and I did donate.
When I joined there was the typical “add your information”, which I did, including a signature, which I grabbed from my email sig, just to make the thing quick. Never did I see a rule, nor did I ever see a link to a forum. I wasn’t even sure there was a forum at that time.
Now, many months and perhaps years later? I get to the forum via a link in my winamp plug in help file, ask my question, and truly received the coldest email I have ever encountered from any website. However, a rule is a rule, and I went first to change my signature. I was very downhearted though, to find myself banned and my post gone.
So very uncaring.

Participant*rolls over, laughing* Mmmm great
Okay okay, I’m going to put the femme mystique out there. (Don’t LAUGH! …I have a vagina…I’m allowed)
Why they take so long at cashmachines:
I couldn’t say since I take about 4.2 minutes running inside the bank, filling out a slip and waiting for the teller. But my guess would be that because irritating impatient men is fun. To me. Otherwise, it’s because they actually pay attention to their finances at the teller. *shrug* I haven’t known many men who knew how to keep track of their finances…I’ve had to do it for them in every relationship I’ve been in.They go to the toilet in groups because the girl’s bathroom doesn’t come with toilet paper holders, so they hold it for one another. (that’s what my dad said at least). Actually, the bathroom is the only place that’s a ‘safe zone’ from men. They talk there, and calm down when the men (or other women) piss them off so they don’t make a scene. That’s observation. I don’t go to the bathroom with anyone. I’m a big girl.
They want a gay best friend because other women can be catty and maliciously backstabbing. We’re kind of socially bred to be in constant competition…that and there’s a constant fear that their man is going to run off with the next cute thing that prances by…which could be their best friend. Straight male friends don’t cut it because, as I’ve noticed firsthand, men can’t handle being friends with girls. THey either wanna plug you, or they don’t want anything to do with you. Generally. VERY generally. If you have a buddy you grew up with, thats something else, but really…how many inter-gender best friends are there? Because it gets messy. Gay=safe.
If women are **** at driving, why are our insurance costs lower due to the fact that we get into less accidents? *shrug* I drive like a racer, apparently, so says my last two boyfriends. My mother’s driving drives me nuts because she goes the speed limit. *shrug* In my opinion, old peopler are worse. And a woman’s natural thought when doing “stupid moves” Is that others will understand, empathize and make due. It’s the classic way they think. (note, not all women, just a generalized notng from psychiatry). Men don’t empathize (classically), they compete. Women aren’t ‘****’ at driving, they just expect empathy.
Makeup in the rear view is just retarded and I claim no responsibility for them. That’s why I don’t wear makeup *shrug* Course, I can get away with it. *HAH*

Women aren’t ‘****’ at driving, they just expect empathy. The common argument is that men are more aggressive, and take more risks. So if I make 100 risky maneuvers and successfully negotiate 98 of them, I *am* a better driver than you are, if you make 10 and succeed at 9. However, from what I’ve seen, men and women do equally stupid things while driving, and suck equally. I don’t see any reason why insurance rates should vary by gender. But I take the train, so I don’t bother with all that.
I’m really sexist and all, but the answers to most of these questions are pretty obvious (RK’s take on it is spot-on)… men generally tend to be retarded and not have any understanding of how female emotion differs. And thats why they spend most of their life trying to get laid…

I find that extra amusing because around here in my hometown, 99% of my regular friends are female. I’ve been told multiple times that I’m like their straight gay best friend. Meaning, I’m heterosexual, but they know I’m not interested in them — because I’ve known most of them since grade school (and already dated one of them once) — so they feel safe now.
And you reference the ladder theory, Sami. aka the When Harry Met Sally Postulate. Bravo.

MemberI’d so enjoy taking forever to conduct my transaction if the guy that created that post was behind me! In fact….I’m tempted to glance around now just to make sure some guy with an anxious look on his face isn’t rolling his eyes at how long its taking me in line. Its a shame men don’t realize that their callous remarks have a ‘fallout’ affect.

ParticipantQuote:– because I’ve known most of them since grade school (and already dated one of them once) —That’s really the only way it can work. How can you not be attracted to a female you’re friends with… at least at some point?

I don’t understand that way of thinking. If there is a line then it is only courteous to work as quickly as possible. I see this every time I go to the grocery store–the women take forever at the self-checkout and the men move quickly. If there is a line then its only respectful to move, and yeah, if you’re going slow on purpose then you probably deserve the looks. How would you like it if it was reversed? It’s only respectful to move quickly and reduce the wait of the rest of the line.
There’s no need to be rude, you don’t know why the person is anxious, and there isn’t any reason you should be unprepared if you just waited in a line. This all applies to men too…but they often seem to not hold grudges or be unprepared.
June 27, 2007 at 6:20 am #162406RabidKitten
ParticipantIt is pretty common to see a woman be lackadaisical and taking her time at the checkout and a fellow go through smoothly in order to get the hell out of there. *shrug* I can’t say why. Perhaps the average woman is used to menial taskwork and men just try to get it done as fast as humanly god forsaken possible. Or possibly, women are busy watching to make sure everything rings up propperly instead of preparing for payment. I don’t know. Maybe it’s the infinant “purse problem” that many women have to dig through things and resituate.
All I know is…I carry a wallet, and the longest point of checking out for me is the cashier scanning things. *shrug*
