Hi All,
I have been using yahoo messenger since the last four years, but never had so many problems!
1) Yahoo chat servers suddenly seems to not liking me switching from one chat room to another quickly. Sometimes it gets stuck and I have to restart my messager to gain re-entry.
2) I am now getting ‘communication error’ message when I try to enter into any chat room. I tried again and again until my fingures got hurt but with no success.
3) I hardly keep more than 15 users in my messenger list, yet when I want to add a new users, it gets stuck in the first step itself and displays me some error messages telling me that the user may have been added and I have to try again later!.
4) Bots! It seems the bots ‘virus’ is gaining strenght and now they have become more smart to have nick names that resemble genuine nick names.
5) Unexpected hanging of messenger, while opening the web cam is a big pain these days for me!. I do not know why Yahoo messenger is not happy when I close a anybody’s web cam by clicking file -> close option. It simply hangs for a few minutes. Sometimes it crashes the whole messenger.
6) Lately, I have observed that after quiting a chat room, my ID is still visible to the users. At the time of writing this, I am still getting messages from users. This is really annoying!
7) My visibly status is totally messed up by yahoo messenger. I have to try many combinations to let my friends view me even if I stay online. They keep complaining me that I am invisible, although I am visible!. Every time I have to click “Available online to Everyone” to “refresh” my visiblilty status.
Can anybody please explain me whats going on with yahoo messenger and also if you have any solutions to any of the problems above!

Just a quick question . . . Have you installed Vista OS? When I did that, I found some of the same types of problems that you mention.
If not, has anything else changed in your system?
i am seriously about to give up on yahoo altogether … whats the point of having yahoo messenger without chat … might as well just use Windows Live Messenger if thats the case
are there any GOOD voice chat rooms that anyone knows of out there?

I am using windows XP and since I am using my office laptop, I do not fiddle around with any system configuration.

It’s called Yahoo has installed the new Alpha chat servers and with anything new of course there is going to be some problems. Keep in mind this is Yahoo we are talking about now and they usually take their time fixing things. lol
If you need to chat that badly make a conference and invite your friends, at least there are no porn bots there. lol

If you’re just wanting a chat system to meet up with your existing friends from Yahoo and elsewhere, try Voice and Video Chat. It has the highest sound quality I’ve heard on any chat system. Best thing about it is there’s no program to download. It’s a web-based system. Just register a name and go create a room for yourself.
I think the worst problem so far with chat is the bot problem. The rooms i used to go into only used to have 7 rooms max, now there are 100 of them filled to the brim with bots. I see this in every chat room i try and go in. Impossible to meet with friends in the chat rooms because bots have literaly taken over. Unless yahoo does something to fix this problem, they might as well get rid of chat because apparently now only bots can get in. god forbid we have a bot free chat. i get knocked into room 15 because every other one is filled with bots top to bottom. Im tempted to take pictures of all the rooms that have bots top to bottom and send them in photobucket links to yahoo. this is getting verry messed up.
