MemberIf you mean by following you into other rooms, then yes.
Or if you mean by locating another ID, then yes.

KeymasterYes, I meant by following me from room to room and if you have a firewall and router wouldn’t this stop it . And how are they doing it ? I don’t mean I want to know so I can do it . I just , shouldn’t you get a notice or something through yahoo that someone is trying to do something illegal?

MemberIt’s part of the program that they can follow you. You would have to actually ignore the person, and even then if you’re in a public chatroom the person can just attach their ID to yours and follow; you just won’t have to see what is being written. It is not really illegal, and it does not break any Yahoo! rules unless the people follow you into rooms that are supposed to be restricted and only the person running the room. It’s part of the chat function. You could always use a 3rd party client and try to cloak yourself.

KeymasterWell on this subject I am really simple so when you say attach themselves to mine , just how do you mean? if you mean join user in chat I understand that but if you mean something else could you explain, and also what is a third party chat client I hear it mentioned all the time but never know what it is .

MemberThey attach their ID to yours…i.e. follow it (or join it in a chat room however you want to say it). Third parties are things like YahElite and YahZak. There are lots of posts on the site that talk about them, so I won’t mention all of the possiblities here. 3rd party means someone other than Yahoo! has produced that program, it connects to Yahoo! but it is not their handywork.
