So far I’ve been able to connect to every IM in trillian except for MSN. I don’t know if there’s some kind of trick or tips that I should know about. Could someone please help me.
Thanks!!!
There are no tricks involved in logging into msn through Trillian!! are you sure that you have typed your sign-in name right and with the correct password ? Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling trillian to see if that works ?
Yeap, to connect to ICQ I had to use its Autoconfigure option then copy the Port to Trillian, with AIM the same. But MSN doesn’t have that option. Do you know if there are other servers besides the one that Triillian has by default????
I’ve been connecting to MSN through Trillian since November of last year with no problems.
Make sure for MSN you specify the the complete email address you use with MSN Messenger. Long-time users will remember that MSN Messenger used to require a Hotmail account, but that isn’t true these days. Trillian can’t assume that your account is on the hotmail.com domain.
I have no problems at all to connect to MSN through Trillian.
Check your Status Window for MSN for error messages. Click MSN medium icon, the BlueBall ;), and select Toggle Status Window.
what firewall are you behind?
I Don’t know what firewall they’re using here at work. I know they use Websense to block the web but other than that….
I’ve done, al the basic things, the status window doesn’t show me the error number it just saids:
“Connection to MSN failed”
Once I had trouble connecting normally (trough MSN Messenger) and I had to change the port number in the Registry. I’ve done that in Trillian but it doesn’t work.
Please help.
Tnx!!!
