MemberAre any other Trillian fans getting frustrated with Trillian’s developmental news? I know it takes a while to develop a product and there is a load of debugging that goes on, but does anyone else feel like they could keep us updated _A LOT_ more often? I mean the Trillian Astra: Coming Soon 2006 website still says coming 2006. I’m not so sure that that is really feasible. In the blog they suggest that public tests would be out shortly, its been about 2 months by now.
I hate to see such a promising product fail because of poor management. They are not marketing it well and without updates occasionally everyone thinks they have been erased from the planet! I personally don’t know if it will really be worth paying for the pro version of Astra, seeing as how they had little or no followups with Trillian 3. They have so much potential, but use so little!
I want to start a support group (or at least start a poll of who agrees/disagrees) that petitions that Trillian blog more about what is going on if they aren’t going to release anything!

ParticipantI do agree with you, I mean they made it such a big deal and all – heck I was afraid I’d have to redo a private Trillian skin I did for this guy really soon just because of the upcoming Astra, however, it’s been months and I see nothing. Maybe they are trying to make sure everyone’s Trillian 3 Pro accounts run out of their 1 year free upgrades then they would all have to re-order it to get Pro again. Would be mean, but heh, makes you think with all this delay doesn’t it? Their last blog post was even like what August? Very odd and maybe it’s just gone, hopefully not..although I see more and more people getting on things like Miranda or GAIM every day now…

MemberFinally, some updates! Posted on the 11th of December was,
Trillian’s Blog wrote:Our internal testing is moving along smoothly, and current plans are to open the doors to a larger testing base the first week of January. Given the rush around the office during the holiday seasons we felt it best to avoid a larger scale test when we’re not 100% staffed. 🙂 We are continuing to build new features and fix existing ones in the meantime. That means that it won’t be before after January for sure… does that mean they will release a beta somewhere around that time or something?
