So, I’ve always been a HUGE trillian fan, and I use it. But, just as of the other day, I rebooted my computer (It’s almost always running), and afterwards trillian runs slowly. To buddy list loads slow, and then when I open a new IM window, it takes about 10 seconds and task manager says Trillian is using 99% of my processor. A similar thing happens when closing windows as well.
I’m using Trillian 3.1 on a Pentium 4, 2.2Ghz, 512MB of RAM. I did not change anything about my trillian configuration, so this is bizzare to me.
Have you tried:
a) Rebooting again?
b) Checking for new Trillian updates?
c) Backing up your skin and buddies.xml and reinstalling Trillian?
I’ve rebooted a few times.
Hmm…just did the update, no luck there. Perhaps it’s time to try re-installing :-
Try this:
1) Open Trillian preferences.
2) Select the message windows page.
3) Click the “Reset” button about halfway down (note what it does first).
So, an update…
I reinstalled trillian, and did the window reset.
No more hang ups opening windows, but still when I close them. This is all very unusual.
