ParticipantOk,
I just want to let ALL of you guys know. I will NOT send you anyone Trillian Pro 2.0 for free. If you like Trillian pay for it. If you cant afford it, use the free version, but do not message the legit people and bug them. It will be a free pass to ignore.

MemberSame here. I don’t even have the file anymore (stopped using Trillian), so I can’t even send it to anyone.

Hopefully the people who contact those who have (or in my case had) Trillian Pro2 to ask for a copy of it so they won’t have to pay for it themselves ….

MemberWhat is it? $25 US? Come on, it is worth it. Although, you get most of the functions with .74 (free). You only lose the ability to add some skins and plugins. Also, I do not know if they have a .74 Yahoo patch yet. I assume they do.

Participantbut how the hell are they to know you have tril? AND your just asking for someone to contact you about it. If you were that bothered about it, leave a note in your profile, or remove your contact information.
But anyway… having this version is really no good. You cant get the full updates from the .cc without the proper registration information etc. Not worth copying N trading IMO.

Participantdude… you have to realize.. we dont all live in the US, meaning that we have to pay the difference. What might by 25 bucks to you, may be close to 75 or more in another country. And Im sorry, but I will not pay for something somone else provides for free.

MemberSure, it is definately not worth $75 U.S. Of course my friends in HK, SG, and mainland think I am nuts for paying for software, but we cannot speak of that… I would suggest the free version, .74. It has most features of the current version, 2.0. Dude, you are in CANADA! What are you talking about it being so expensive?

KeymasterLet’s not argue about whether Trillian Pro is “worth” the $25US price. Clearly there is room for disagreement on this point. To some people it’s worth it, to others it is not.
I tend to agree that it’s a hard sell when nearly all other IM products are “free” (even though free really means they serve you advertisements non-stop).
The real issue here? Pester someone for a bootleg copy of Trillian Pro and you’re be happily added to their ignore list. It’s bad form to beg for stuff, and even worse when there are plenty of free alternatives available.

I live in Norway, where we use Norwegian currency – but $25 is still $25..? I did not pay $75 for my Trillian..! It’s not as if there’s any P&P here.

ParticipantIm not aware that CS was accepting currency outside the US.
I could be wrong.

MemberWhat Birgit means is that $25 is the same no matter where you live. The value of it in your own currency might change every day, but $25 is still $25. And as for CS accepting currencies other than US Dollars, PayPal accepts payments from most countries as long as you’re using a valid credit card. The credit card company will convert the $ into your own currency and put that on your bill. I don’t know how CS takes care of the non-paypal purchases, but if they’ve done the smart thing, they’re using a service that accepts non-US issued credit cards (unlike many American online stores).

ParticipantAs Jeff said. I did not start this post to argue about the pricing of Trillian. I posted this to let everyone know who is searching for people to ask for Trillian that we ALL will hopefully ignore them.

MemberGee, I am glad I subscribed to this topic… I am going to unsubscribe after this post. I don’t understand why people would beg others for a program. Has the individual not heard of a site that starts with a K? I use 2.0 It is nice, but not worth $25 U.S. As I said before, the free version, .74 is almost as good. I say this not knowing if they have a Yahoo patch for .74 at this time. I don’t really care as I am using 2.0 and loving it. Feel free to pester me to send you a copy of 2.0. I will not.

MemberRephrasing what Jeff said: “It’s bad form to beg for stuff, [if you’re too stupid to get something illegally, no one is going to hand it for you if you ask.]”
