versoworks.comThings have been quiet around here for the last couple of months or so but we have a good reason; Messenger:Mate for AIM was being secretly created and today we’re pleased to announce its immediate availability to the public. This new version packs a lot of familiar features and some new ones with the goal being to keep consistancy between the two flavours and give you the end user the best possible experience with both MSN Messenger and AIM.
Due to many factors, Messenger:Mate Lite will no longer be created or supported and the former ‘Pro’ name has been dropped in favour of plain old Messenger:Mate.
Messenger:Mate for AIM brings together the much loved features created for aiMutation together with our now much more advanced knowledge of the internal workings of the AIM client to create the most advanced and tightly integrated independant addon for AIM ever. A completely new Theme engine has been created which is far more tolerant to changes made to the client and also allows for any image resource AIM loads to be replaced with your own. Screen name aliasing has been further developed and aliased names are now available in the Messenger:Mate Log Manager. These features along with many more, including the much loved ‘Talking while away’ feature will insure you continue to use AIM the way you want to.
Coming soon, Messenger:Mate for MSN Messenger will be updated to include the improved Grouped IM features built into Messenger:Mate for AIM along with better searching of log files in both flavours.
If you’re an existing Messenger:Mate for MSN Messenger user and plan on also using Messenger:Mate for AIM then please review this forum thread before installing Messenger:Mate for AIM.
