Member(Hmmmm, I think something like this came up a few months ago ??)
I feel the link for YM profiles is in error (here{me} or here{Shifter}).
Currently it shows different things for different people, and NONE of them hugely useful, e.g.:
http://members.yahoo.com/interests?.oc=t&.kw=eagle_kiwi&.sb=1 (me)
http://members.yahoo.com/interests?.oc=t&.kw=shiftthis_net&.sb=1 (Shifter)Whereas the simple format:
http://profiles.yahoo.com/eagle_kiwi (me)
http://profiles.yahoo.com/shiftthis_net (Shifter)
DOES give a real direct target, every time (will by Y!360 for those with that set, or just plain vanilla Y!Profile for others)January 29, 2006 at 12:12 am #137339Spike
MemberActually, I don’t think there’s much difference. Also, for people with special Yahoo! addresses like me, the page displays really wierd.

I’d just as well leave it, besides, the link is to view their Yahoo! Profile, not their Y!360 page or lack thereof.

MemberY360 is a complete red herring, Spike – that just happens to be an ALTERNATIVE Yahoo profile some people have… but a Yahoo Profile nonetheless.
My point is that for users such as Shifter (perhaps the majority?) the current method leads to a “can’t find” page – but my suggestion would mean it WOULD find a profile for those people.
Re your “dot” id – I haven’t come across that profile quirk before, but I figure it’s an unexpected bug in Yahoo since they introduced those “dot” ids, and hopefully they’ll remedy it some time.
In summary, for the 3 users exampled (me, Shifter, you) the current BBB finds a useful Y!Profile for 1/3… my suggestion would improve that to 2/3. SURELY that’s useful !?

MemberThe reason my profile is displayed incorrectly (and why it “cannot find listing” for my name) is because I took up on a special Chinese Yahoo Name offer that allowed me to pick a Yahoo name with a .XX extension (list of roughly 20 2-letter extensions) and that would be your Yahoo ID. I am the only exception, everyone else I go to, it seems to find the profile just fine. It’s hard to edit something like that in vBulletin, as well, if I recall correctly (correct me if I’m wrong), so I don’t think it’s worth the hassle.
