MemberI use my webcam for security and when I’m at work I need to know who is viewing it (either Yahoo name or IP address would help) At work I use have to use a different screen name or else it will kick my cam at home offline defeating the whole purpose. I use another screen name from my work computer and want to monitor the people viewing it at the same time as me
what programs do I need to accomplish this ?
thanks

MemberLet´s see…
First option is to block everyone but your second sn to view your webcam, so you don´t really have the problem. Nobody but you watches your securtity webcam (I do thing is a wise decision).
If you want to do that just go to privacy setting> webcams> allow only this users (and put only your sn in there)
Now, another option if you want someone else to see it is take remote control of your computer. Then it will just be as if you are sitting on your computer logged on as yourself, and you can see how many viewers you have and everything.
If you have XP that is very easy to do, if not, you still can do it, there are programs around.

MemberWhat kind of Job do you have where you can go on yahoo messenger and use a webcam? Most of the jobs I know people are not allowed to use messengers let alone webcams at work.

MemberDon’t use Yahoo web-cam at all for security purposes. Web-cams can be viewed even without your knowledge and anyone viewing will know you are not at home, it’s not that hard for a good hacker to retrieve your personal information and if he’s close by then say good bye to your personal belongings and your computer. 🙁 Logitech quick cam pro comes with software for a room monitor with web access that is private, not only that but will record any movement in the room activated by a built in motion detector. Auto zoom and face tracking are a couple other good features. Not bad for a 100 bucks. That is if your using your cam for security, or if your spying on roommates it might be a good idea to use a majic marker to black out the green LED light. LOL
