I have a router. My webcam works without it. The router must block the connection or something because it will not let me connect. It tries to connect, then reconnect but never does. I would like to know the problem, but knowing doesn’t do much unless someone knows how to fix it. Thank you. Tell me how to fix it.
What kind of router is it? Do you know how to access the settings within?
yes i do. It is a dell true broadband 1184. And yes i do know how to access the settings inside it.
bump plz answer
bump. My router is a dell truemobile broadband 1184 router. And I need to know how to get it to allow the port for the webcam to work. Thank you.
You’ll want to configure port 5100 to forward to the IP address of the computer with the webcam. A great reference for ports used by various Internet applications can be found in our Favorite Links directory; it’s the most complete list of TCP/IP ports I’ve seen.
Which IP address do I use? It gave me the router IP address for my computer but how do I find the actual IP address for my laptop?? I have done this several times and it never has worked. any other thoughts would be appreciated. thank you.
