I’m new to this forum and I need help using my webcam. The webcam that I have is a camcorder that has webcam capabilities, a Panasonic DV Camcorder model no. pv-dv102 and this camera works fine with yahoo! messenger but not on msn. when i do my audio and video setup, the webcam works perfectly in there, but when i start an instant message and start webcam, it shows a tiled picture and the picture is also still, can anyone please help. i’m connecting with a usb connection and my friend doesn’t have a webcam. does this also affect anything? i am on t1 connection also.

Can you enlighten us with which version of Messenger and OS you use?
If you are able to view yourself in the wizard just fine, there may be a connection problem between you and your contact. Possibly a block by a firewall.
When you try inviting a contact to view your webcam, does the webcam only show a still image? In this midst of this, is your contact able to hear you through the mic?
