I use Yahoo Messanger 8.0 and I am having problems getting it to use webcams. I have tried EVERY option in yahoo help and none of it works. I have messed with the proxies, I have done the port stuff, nothing works. I have a Logitec QuickCam. The logitec is plug and play so it should work instantly, but it will not work at all with Yahoo. The only choice under webcam sources in yahoo is “Microsoft WDM Image Capture (Win32), Version: 5.1.2600.2180” and this is not a webcam. I have reinstalled yahoo many times and tried a few diffrent versions and still nothing. I have restared my computer many times as well and still nothing. I have removed all useless programs that I have loaded so far and nothing. Please, I really need some help. Thank you.
Hey Jhun,
you can try the following:
open this link with IE (won’t work with firefox etc) How do I test my webcam? – Yahoo! Messenger
You can test your cam there and it automatically loads the latest cam wrapper. Sometimes this helps when yahoo doesnt recognize the cam on messenger.
Good luck 🙂
You need to download the drivers for your quick cam, uPnP or not.
Go to your local Logitech site and download the software package for Quickcam.
Then you will have two selections under source.
