MemberOk, I have a problem, plain n simple. Its an Creative cam, there Instant Cam. So its a pretty crappy cam. But the cam works just fine on MSN or in its own webcam program but with Yahoo the cam will turn on just fine. Just after about 10 seconds the cam will freeze and completely freeze up the entire computer. The cam used to work just fine before the newer versions. Im not sure if it started at the download of 8, or 7.5 or wutever but its started pretty recently n for some reason i dont know. Ive tried downloading the driver for the cam, didnt work, ive tried moving it to a new usb port, didnt work, ive tried yahoos helpf to make a registry key for it, that also didnt work. So now im turning to the best place for lost souls who need help and that is here. Throw me your best suggestions. The computer is fast enough to run this cam, n like i said it ran fine before on yahoo without a problem. We have even tried getting a new cam that is faster that another computer uses that for my best knowlege works just fine and that cam didnt work on the computer too. We have tried also reinstalling the cam, and the yahoo, and we have even blown the computer away to scratch and restored it, installed the yahoo n cam n still we face this problem. Wut can I do. give me suggestions to fix it and suggestions to look for problems at, please be persise in the xp environment, dont just tell me go check this, tell me how to, always helps. thx to all who can help.

Memberok for starters SHUT OFF yer system restore. DO NOT use it. If you realy need to do anything of that nature it i much better to just completely reformat. System restore uses up lot of memory just to be active. If you really think it is from the newer version of yahoo, why dont you uninstall yer yahoo messenger and install an older version? If you dont know where to get an older version of yahoo messenger PM me on yahoo and i will give you th elink to my site. I have messenger 6.0 on my site and i also have messenger 5.0 here on a disc. Really though I dont think this is your problem completly. It seems to be a PC performance issue. I think you may just have too much stuff running in the bckground on yer pc. This happens with alot of people and they dont even realize it. To find this out restart your PC and as soon a it starts open your task manager and click the processes tab. The only process you should see running is windows system processes. If there is anything else running this means your are allowing your pc to run operations on start up. This will cause a great deal of speed loss upon Boot up. The only thing you shoul dbe allowing your PC to run on startup is windows. Then once windows starts YOU turn on what you will be using. There is no need to have windows running programs you aint using. The pc will perform so much better if it only a to do what you are telling it to do. There is alot of ways to correct this. If you need some assistance on doing this feel free to Pm me on yahoo messenger at ultra_great. I m willing to help you or atleast guide you in the right direction. A good place to start would be TweakXP They give lots of performance tweaking tips for WindowsXP. Also on that site take note on the left side of the page In the Tweak & Tips Catergory area there is a catergory called Internet and Network After you do yer performance tweaks go to Internet & Networking and check them out too. Look for the one about Killing Yahoo Chat Ads aspecially. This is a great tip. I myself do just about ALL of the Performance Tweaks. I have done them all enough between my own PCs and other PCs I have worked on for people that I dont even have to look at th ewebpage anymore lol. They do give for the most part very thorough directions on doing the tweaks though. Jut make ure you red it and follow EXACTLY what it is telling you till you get the hang of it.
