I have IM fwd ro cell on AIM and every once and awhile I get blank messages sent to my phone from some AIM screen name. They have weird screen names like “cm9z37540576” and “sf67v4” was the latest ones I got. I never get these when Im on AIM on computer. I actually recieved one werid blank IM from one before, and hurried and got on computer, added the s/n to buddy list, it was on, I i just IMd and said who are you? stop IMing me! I saw it had a warning of like 35% also. I checked its profile, and just had a link to like some website that sounded like a spammer site. After I IMd it, it went offline, to my view anyways. Never have seen it again, yet….
ANY IDEA WHAT THIS IS ALL ABOUT?!? I have asked other friends if this happes to them too. They all say yes.
PLEASE LET ME KNOW! I sometimes get these like in the middle of the night. 3AM 5AM sometimes during the day 5PM or 9PM. Just random days and times by different screen names. There have been like at least 7 different screen names thats IM blank msgs to me which is then fwd to my cell. It gets really annoying!

It might be SPAMMERS trying to see if your aim name is valid……
If they dont get a message back saying “User XXXX is not available” They know your a valid hit…..
If I were you,i would go into your pref. and choose to only allow aims from THOSE ON YOUR BUDDY LIST,then this cant happen….

well I would select the option to allow only those on my buddy list, but then I have people on my blocked list that will now not be blocked if I choose that other option. Another thing, as I said, I ONLY GET THESE MESSAGES when IM forwarding to my cell is turned on, and I am offline (offline my computer AIM). I have never received a weird message or anything when on AIM through my computer AIM, or even when logged on to AIM through my phone, where I am able to respond. But thank you for the quick response!
alright I get those too and here is what it is…
as the other person says it is just spam….have you ever been signed on AIM on your compuyter and you get a chat invitation and when you go its just spam stuff….well thats what im thinkin those that you get on your phone are..but since you just are doin AIM forwarding or b/c your phone cant display the the invitation it justs comes up as a blank IM.
