HEy, i was just wondering what exactly is bartcache in aim..? it looks like a temp folder, but im not sure, hope to hear from someone, thanks.
It stores the Smileys you see displayed as well as if you use AIM expressions they are also stored there.
Can someone tell me what your “fish URi or URL” is in aim
I cleared the things in each folder in teh bartcache folder..there were a lot of files, is it ok to clear them..? i haven’t seen a problem with the smilies.
Not that I am aware of … if a you have a smiley displayed in your IM window the bartcache file will just reappear under the 1024 folder.
Does anyone know what filelib is? It keeps appearing in the My Documents folder even after I delete it. It has a folder for each screen name I sign on with, but there’s nothing in the folders. Is there a use for this, or a way to keep it from coming back?
yeah, its the default location where AIM puts files you receive… you can go to your preferences menu (make sure your buddy list is active and then press F3) under the file sharing section, and specify where you want the files to go
Actually filelib is the directory for file sharing. Its where other ppl on your buddy list can get your files that u store there, with your permission of course. If u dont want to share files, leave that folder empty.
