MemberYah Kazaa lite is cool, though its harder to find now that its out-lawed by Sharman. But it looks like you can still get a copy from TechTV. K-lite has no ads or spyware and is totally safe for your computer, and even has anti-RIAA features. You could probably have found this all out and more if you just used the search button, but thats askin too much I suppose. [:P]
Another good one I use occasionally is Shareaza, it connects to all the P2P networks (including Kazaa).

What? Windows Media Player isn’t a p2p program where you can download music. i think you’re talking about something else tori

MemberYeh, she definitely read the question wrong, but plastidcells you didn’t provide anything too useful yourself.
By the way Aim Shizzle, Kazaa does have a crapload of “fake” songs on the network. Sometimes it takes some serious digging to get anything that plays the whole way through. I recommend using the “more search option” box and search for only audio files with quality above 160 kbps. You get better audio, and usually less crap.

MemberAlot of guys I talk to say that you can avoid getting fake songs by observe the Name of the user, the bandwith, and the file description. Fake Kazaa files usually have users that are simple like “susan” or “unknown.” If a file has 1 user sharing it and the bandwith if fairly high, (around 1500) its usually fake. The file descriptions are also very dull, and usually just contain the song name and the length.
It isnt completly dead, (according to zeropaid) and downloads can be found here as well as links to sites working on updating the program. These are the official forums: http://filesharingtalk.com/index.php?act=Reg&CODE=00
I linked to the forum register page as, one, on the home page I can’t seem to find a register link, and two, you cant check out the forum without having an account.

Membermmkay…
i’ve tried both kazaa (lite) and limewire. i much prefer limewire. perhaps i don’t use kazaa “correctly” but limewire seems to get better search results. with limewire, you don’t get corrupted files (well you do but limewire catches them whereas kazaa does not). although i like kazaa’s search utility: kazaa seems to use a search with the boolean AND (therefore limiting your results to what you want) whereas limewire seems to use OR (giving you extraneous results even when you try to specify exactly what you want)
although limewire’s multiple search tabs is really useful. with kazaa it’s really annoying searching for songs one at a time, and if you start downloading one song that turns out to be a different version or corrupted, then you have to search again if you’ve already gone onto a different song to search for [yes… as you see i’m very articulate and concise]
people say there’re more results with kazaa than limewire. although i’ve found that limewire has better results or if anything the same number of relevant results
and above all… i get better download rates with limewire than with kazaa
edit: btw… limewire has no adware or spyware of any kind (or so they claim but i haven’t noticed anything)

ParticipantI use klite 2.6. Its totally 100% LEGAL. Its an addon to the kazaa 2.6 but it has nothingless then the old kazaalite 2.4.1(i forget the version number). I use dial up (i know it horrible) but with klite 2.6 my downloads are really fast, its usally at 5kb/s. Which is fast for dial up. You can get that here
http://www.fasttrackhelp.com/developmentforums/index.php?s=6607138611d3f94ecc693e3748ea9382&showtopic=7992Being that it uses the newest kazaa, the downloads are faster, there are more supernodes, (more files in otherwords) and tabbed search fields. I also use something called MP3 Shield. “MP3 Shield is a plug-and-play application designed to rapidly scan vast MP3 collection for corruptions and to automatically detect corrupted MP3 files while being downloaded, thus protecting your music collection. MP3 Shield integrates seamlessly into any Kazaa Media Desktop client to automatically scan MP3 files that are being downloaded and filter out corrupted songs.” you can download it for free here

MemberFriends have told me that…
– Limewire has superior music download speeds and stability compared to kazaa lite and kazaa.
– Limewires servers aren’t flooded with fake music, though it is easy to distinguish fake music from real music on kazaaBut:
– Kazaa’s media center makes Limewires look like a piece of crap.
– Kazaa lite is much better for downloading programs, in terms of speed and search results.
– Kazaa lite doesn’t have spyware.
– Kazaa lite is more custimizableFebruary 24, 2004 at 10:33 am #49339Skylor

Not being updated (No one’s really updating the Kazaa K++ servers, so in a while you might not be able to connect)First off, Its not hard to find, as danger boy and myself had posted to links to which to get it from. You can also download it from http://www.oldversion.com . Secondly, by my understandings all klite builds have had built in players, infact 2 of them. The original kazaa one and the AVI preview. Thirdly, it has and will be updated, as I have posted theres a klite 2.6. Its not made by the same programmers but its nothingless then the original. There are many builds of klite after the kazaa lite 2.4.1. Lastly, you can scan through fake mp3 files with mp3 shield as you download them. I urge you to make sure your facts are straight before you post incorrect information.
