MemberI was just wondering how the MP3 Shield will tell you whether the file is corrupted or whatnot. I know you hvae to run it at the same time as you do Kazaa but does it show you the file is corrupted before you download the song or while you are doing it. Basically I was just wondering how it lets you know that the file is bad.

ParticipantQuote:quote:Originally posted by LivesNaboxI also use something called MP3 Shield. “MP3 Shield is a plug-and-play application designed to rapidly scan vast MP3 collection for corruptions and to automatically detect corrupted MP3 files while being downloaded, thus protecting your music collection. MP3 Shield integrates seamlessly into any Kazaa Media Desktop client to automatically scan MP3 files that are being downloaded and filter out corrupted songs.” you can download it for free here
http://mp3shield.com/Please read before asking, LivesNaBox has provided a very good description of this app, and answers your question not once, but twice in his original post! It needs to actually start downloading before it can scan it. If you need more info on how it works, check out the online manual located here – http://mp3shield.com/manual.html 🙂

MemberI use acqlite. I have a Mac. It connects to Limewire, has really good speed, and isn’t bloated at all.

MemberI use DC++ and WinMX for my downloading needs. Granted its not as good as other clients, but it has no spy-ware and does its job decently. Plus DC++ has a crap load of networks for me to choose from.

Hard to find (I don’t know of any sites that are still giving away Kazaa K++…there was a .tk site but it got taken down…there might be maybe one or two sites)
Unlike the regular Kazaa, no built-in player
LOADS of fake songs
Hard to find complete albums
Not being updated (No one’s really updating the Kazaa K++ servers, so in a while you might not be able to connect)First off, Its not hard to find, as danger boy and myself had posted to links to which to get it from. You can also download it from http://www.oldversion.com . Secondly, by my understandings all klite builds have had built in players, infact 2 of them. The original kazaa one and the AVI preview. Thirdly, it has and will be updated, as I have posted theres a klite 2.6. Its not made by the same programmers but its nothingless then the original. There are many builds of klite after the kazaa lite 2.4.1. Lastly, you can scan through fake mp3 files with mp3 shield as you download them. I urge you to make sure your facts are straight before you post incorrect information.
Kazaa Lite is not K++…they are two different programs. K++ is not on the net anymore, or at least it’s hard to find…Kazaa Lite is. I was referring to K++, which I use. K++ does not have a built in player. And I am aware that you can use Mp3 shield, but that does not make the fact that there are a lot of fake songs untrue.
So basically, I do not believe I am posting incorrect information, as we are referring to two different programs.

ParticipantActually, you are correct, there was at one point two seperate programs called Kazaa Lite and K++. But the programs have merged into one in what is now actually known as Kazaa Lite K++, they all did basically the same thing anyway. I’ve used all three, and there aint much to distinguish them besides the names. So generally, if someone now refers to Kazaa Lite or K++, they are usually refering to the latest version – Kazaa Lite K++. I know its confusing, but hopefully this helps sort it out a bit.

Memberso they merged? Didn’t realize that…I’ve had my version of Kazaa K++ for a pretty long time now, and haven’t updated it at all. Oh well, I was referring to the old Kazaa K++, to once again clear up confusion.

MemberI use the good ol’ IRC. Undernet server #mp3passion…
February 28, 2004 at 8:30 pm #49356kimastergeorge
MemberDoesn’t Kazaa Lite K++ use the same server as KaZaA Media Desktop? It should, or else it would defeat the purpose of having a KaZaA without spyware or adware. Unless you mean that KaZaA’s servers are never updated.
February 28, 2004 at 10:44 pm #49332shifter
ParticipantKazaa is not a server it is peer-to-peer software, Servers are what got Napster in trouble. The Kazaa software (including Lite K++) connects to the Sharman network, which is comprised of users sharing files hosted off of there own computers. So essentially, the user is the server in this case. The only thing that is updated is the software.
