I’m not sure the status of the legal problems currently plaguing Limewire, Kazaa et al, but I don’t think the software itself has officially been outlawed per se. However, using said programs to obtain copyrighted music, software, movies, and so on is generally considered illegal.
That being said, my parents taught me to share. 😉
